Anthony Weiner scandal puts wife Huma Abedin in the spotlight

When Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) stepped up to the podium at the Sheraton in New York on Monday, an important figure in his life was conspicuously absent: his wife.

Huma Abedin is a high-profile aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and the two were married last July by none other than her boss' husband: the former president with more than enough infidelity issues to go around.

Born in Michigan, Abedin reportedly grew up in Saudi Arabia and is fluent in Arabic. She has worked for Hillary for 15 years, starting as intern in the White House. Weiner said she knew about his penchant for flirting with women online but she did not know it was in fact her husband who posted the Twitter photo of his bulging crotch until Monday morning.

In Rebecca Johnson's August 2007 Vogue magazine profile of Abedin, Clinton remarked, "Huma Abedin has the energy of a woman in her 20s, the confidence of a woman in her 30s, the experience of a woman in her 40s, and the grace of a woman in her 50s. She is timeless, her combination of poise, kindness, and intelligence are matchless."

According to the New York Times, Bill Clinton joked to Abedin that marrying a politician is not easy because it is "easy to distrust them, whatever their religion."

Abedin may be taking a page from other wives burned by a libidinous politician who did not appear alongside their husbands in the face of scandal. Jenny Sanford, the wife of former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford, let her husband face the television klieg lights after embarrassing private behavior by himself. The Sanfords later divorced, and it is too early to say what will become of Weiner and Abedin's marriage.

Hillary Clinton famously sat beside her husband on CBS News' "60 Minutes" in 1992, when the presidential candidate faced accusations of marital infidelity. Eliot Spitzer's wife, Silda Wall Spitzer, famously stood by the New York governor when he admitted he had been hiring prostitutes on the side.

But 1992 was two decades ago, and the secretary of state may now be offering Abedin different advice. No one but the two of them knows what takes place in their private conversations, but Hillary certainly has the experience to offer words of wisdom for Abedin, new to life as the wife of a politician in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Twitter, Twitter on the Wall, Who is the Sexiest of them All?

What is it with men in positions of power
who seem to inhabit an ivory tower?
They believe they are kings of their castles
and think of women as their vassals..

Tiger and Dominique are names that spring to mind
and there are many others of a similar kind.
Arnold of course we should not forget
who, just like the others, his behaviour must now regret.

There's Governor Mark Sanford who mountains could shift
when he flew off to Argentina to give his soul mate a gift.
When to his wife he became a traitor
he moved the Appalachians south of the Equator.

Then they become indignant and cranky
when someone discovers their sexy hanky panky.
The latest would-be Lothario to be found out
is now seeing his career go down the spout.

Anthony Weiner hoped to become New York's next big shot
before he got his boxers twisted in a knot.
He didn't know that Tweeting is a dangerous game
especially when one uses one's very own name.

What made him think the sight of his underwear's bulge
would induce women with him in virtual sex to indulge?
A quick glance at the asset of which he is so proud
is enough to confirm he's not that well endowed.

Any young woman would become dismayed
when seeing the photo of the face he displayed.
There's no way she would yearn our hero to hug
once she got a good look at his ugly mug.

How come the man who turns out to be such a louse
usually has an intelligent and attractive spouse?
Is it because deep in his heart
he realizes he's the one who is not that smart?

The moral of this tale is very clear
and I am glad I can repeat it here.
Any man who plans to cheat
must learn how to control his Tweet.

"reportedly grew up in Saudi Arabia" - is CBS also covering for the Saudi mole Huma? "reportedly"? lol. There is no quesation about where she grew up. From age 2 until she went to college she lived in Saudi Arabia. Her past and family are very disturbing on many levels. Who is funding her? Who is she reporting to? How does a woman whose highest paying job from age 17 to 30 paid about $38k per year buy a $750k apartment in DC and buy on "haute couture" clothes? Huma is a Saudi mole!

How does someone as homely and as unattractive as someone like Weiner get such a beautiful wife? He presumably admitted his previous indiscretions before they married, but once they married, he failed to stop and continued his perverted ways.
