Obama to speak on Middle East upheaval Thursday

In what the White House is billing as a "sweeping and comprehensive speech," President Obama will deliver an address on "his views on the upheaval" in the Middle East and North Africa next Thursday at the State Department.

In addition to the so-called "Arab Spring," the president is  expected to discuss the stalled efforts toward peace between Israel and Palestine. Mr. Obama meets with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next week.

The announcement comes on the same day as word that George Mitchell, Mr. Obama's envoy in the Middle East, will resign.

A president addressing the American people is crap?

You are a pathetic, hypocritical and unpatriotic person. If you liked the POTUS, I imagine you'd be applauding his efforts to serve his constituency.

The bias and hatred gets old. It makes people dislike YOU, not the POTUS... and this is true for objective minded people that didn't vote for him, as well as those that did.

There is a 'right of return' issue in the Middle East that has millions of Palestinians OUTSIDE the Palestinian lands of the East Bank and Gaza. The majority of these displaced persons are living in Jordan and Syria and are UNABLE to return and cannot be citizens in the cities where they live.

To address this issue, President Obama must also domestically address the issue of illegal aliens in the US as well: the friendly invasion of labor from Mexico.

Palestinians are no different, needing an economic future in a new state. And you can be sure Israel prefers a WEAK state next door as a pretext for the continued occupation. But this must change and Israel must let go.
