Hillary Clinton: Secretary of State is "My Last Public Position"

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, on a visit to Bahrain on Friday, said she will not run for President in 2012 and will most likely turn to humanitarian work at the conclusion of her current position.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has once more reiterated that she will not run for president in 2012, going so far as to refer to her current role in government as "my last public position."

At a town hall meeting appearance in Manama, Bahrain on Friday, Clinton denied intentions to run for either president or vice president on the ticket with President Obama, who defeated her in the 2008 Democratic presidential primary. Some experts have also speculated that she could replace Robert Gates next year when he retires as secretary of defense.

"I think I will serve as secretary of state as my last public position," she said. Clinton's career has included not only her current position as secretary of state, but also eight years in the Senate representing New York.

Clinton has repeatedly laughed off rumors that she may seek the highest office in the country, and she was notably out of the country during the midterm elections when Democrats lost control of the House.

When her current position is over, Clinton "would like to continue working to improve lives for others," she said, adding that she will "probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on women and children and probably around the world." This marks the first time Clinton has publicly discussed alternatives to political office in her future.

In returning to advocacy work, she could follow in the footsteps of her husband and former President Bill Clinton, who has largely turned to humanitarian work through his Clinton Foundation since leaving the White House.

Mrs. Clinton has formerly worked extensively for the rights of women and children. She went on to note that while she has had a "fascinating and rewarding public career," she particularly enjoyed her time as a lawyer for the Children's Defense Fund, which advocates for abused and neglected children, as well as her women's rights work, according to Reuters.

"I feel very lucky because of my parents and then my education, the opportunities that I've had, so I would like to continue working to improve lives for others," she added.

In addition to personal passions, Clinton also noted the strain of the job of president as a deterrent towards seeking further election.

"Every president, if you watch what they look like when they come into office, you can see their hair turn white because it's such a hard job," she said.

There is indeed an Arkansaw Wisconsin, and all one has to do is look on the map,and yes I am indeed an American That Believes within The Constitution, and or The Tea Party that is our last hope to save this country from the corrupted congress, and or government that you seem to continue to believe within year after year as they slowly, but surely continue to take, and or atempt to take your Constitution rights way before your very own eyes. And being A warrior that will indeed stand, and fight for our Constitution I am truely sorry that the whole world wants to find the United States, and its people guilty of war crimes against humanity, for that only means that we will have to protect our borders even more from those who want to destroy us as a nation, and a people.

Sorry to hear that. Hillary woud've been the best president of all the choices, she's smart, aware and loves her country. We've got Obama who has no experience and no backbone on foreign policy. we took an in-experienced Obama over an extremely qualified Hillary.

S u r e, it is! She can't WAIT to become PREZ! And all those people out there too young to know hers and Bills history in the White House will be dumb enough to vote for her. I believe it was White House Insider (http://newsflavor.com/politics/us-politics/white-house-insider-hillary-2012-and-michelle-obamas-racism/) who said Yes she will run, but first the Dem party will put up someone else -- THEN HILLARY WILL STEP IN TO "SAVE THE DAY"! Please, Lord, let it NOT be true!

I'm sick of you people who hate so much especially hating someone you don't personally know. That's the trouble with our country...too many really sick and hateful people who are angry about their lives and have low self esteem that they need to vent their disappointments on other people. And if you call yourself Christian, shame on you,

bravo!
pourquoi ? pourquoi cette envie de vouloir blesser autrui.

bravo!
Why? why this desire to want to hurt others. au revoir

The lady wanted to be the president, not of usa but for the planet earth at any cost. I feel she had a complex due to her tiny size and her gender, thus a macho image became an imperative essentiality and at that spur of weakness she lied to have one, ~I escaped sniper fire~, terrible, wherein at the same spot (safe not dangerous) she was given flowers by a young girl.

From a diplomat she turned tyrant, wherein she often takes the credit for whatever she says, the effort is not there to say "Our president feels, desires..... etc" , but it comes as " I feel.... etc when she talks on international platforms that being so self-centered. Strange she hadnt learnt anything from a great world leader at home, her husband. She acts bossy and is arrogant, it shows, lacks commonsense compromised princeples over a temp career life that lasts a term.

Yea, thanks "Dr. Phil" for that keyboard analysis of a woman who you have never personally met. What do you know about this woman? What do you know about ANYTHING? Just because you watch Dr. Phil as an occupation doesn't mean you now have a degree in phsycology. I don't agree with what this woman does, but I'm not going to make these idiotic assumption about someone I've never met.

She no doubt realize that The American People would no longer trust her,and her back stabbing ways to represent WE The People Of The United State Of America, for she has already broken international laws, and our corrupt Government Honors her by leting her remain at her Current position where she will be totally enfective, and our Government continues to go on as business as usual deceiving The American People as their Bank accounts fill with the dirty bloody money of the rich, as they continue to destroy our country with their greed, and evilness.Even A dog will turn, and bite the hand that feeds him if he has been kicked, and hit long enough, and hard enough to realize that he is simply unwanted,And We The People are strating to realize that our goals, and values are NOT being honored by those we elect to represent us as a people and a Nation.... that will always seek out the Truths within all things within a System that already has ran amok with corruption. Steve Peterson Rommel,

Of course, the re-election of George Bush in 2004 proves that everything you just stated is false. Furthermore, I would ask in what language are you attempting to communicate? You're obviously not a U.S. citizen since even the dumbest of them---and there are plenty (see George Bush comment above)---knows that Arkansas is not a place in Wisconsin, and most even know that it ain't spelled "Arkansaw".
