Boehner: Middle Class Only Tax Cut "Chicken Crap"

House minority leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said repeatedly Democrats are playing political games with the vote on an extension of the Bush tax cuts.

Thursday the prospective leader of the House had more colorful language.

Boehner called the Democrats' tax bill, set for a vote Thursday afternoon, "chicken crap." The bill only extends the tax cuts for the middle class.

"This is nonsense," Boehner said forcefully to reporters. "The election was one month ago. We're 23 months from the next election and the political games have already started trying to set up the next election"

"To rule this vote out today, it's really just, it's what you think I was going to say earlier."

Answering a question from CBS News Capitol Hill producer Jill Jackson on whether or not he would put the plan for deficit reduction from President Obama's commission to a vote in the House if it received the 14 commission votes needed, Boehner said, "If ands and buts were candy and nuts, everyday would be Christmas."

by hhandyman December 3, 2010 12:49 PM EST: heres a non tax way to set it up Every congress man to recieve the equivilent of his constitent average wage from the welfare assisted to the highest dollar from his home state. and no office staff to excess 3 employees including the elected official. Requre the elected official to write all bills he/she submits in its final form never allow any lobbyist pritnted materials photo copys faxsimoilys or legal services copy to be in a bill so thier are no leagal services of independant sources used to make loopholes that dodge for any special interst group. let Boehner grow a pair and serve the public not special interst wealthy corperate interests.; Reply to this comment

Boehner won't stand up for the bipartisan offer President Obama has put forth to permit the permanent extension of Bush Tax Cuts for everyone except the top 2% of wage earners. by hhandyman December 3, 2010 12:04 PM EST: Boehner Needs to know that the middle class needs the funds where the rich may or may not add to employees its been proven that its less likely to happen that way rather it will hung on to for a hedge against thier future inflation that will be caused by the Republican agenda.
The majority of people that earn over 250,000 per annum get it from non earned income royalties, annuitys, or have foundations to dodge the taxes theyd normaly pay on personal income, they limit property taxes by controling non profit orgiaizations that pay NO property taxes yet suppily air travel at cost for the controler or is a writeoff on taxes this is non fair to the nation as a tax dodger that can use his funding to circumvent paying his/her just share of taxes to support the goverment,
the chicken are the republicans not willing to close the loopholes they write into the bills. The working lunch partys that are tax deductable where regualr people have micky d's dollar menu and pays all the taxes to do it. Boehner is full of it he wants only to be re elected by the CEO's and Well to do. Hopefully in 2012 he will be replaced by Nancy again when people see how twisted his ideals are based on the Average Citizens values.; Reply to this comment

They are not "Cuts" because if they are not renewed your taxes go UP, if they are renewed NOTHING HAPPENS to your taxes. They DON"T GO DOWN. They are not "cuts! Nancy Pelosi personally orchestrates a Up Yours maneuver very reminiscent of what happened right after the Health Care Summit where the Democrats said that was fun, now we are going to do what we want, because we want, and Up Yours!
So in show of total hyper-partisanship and a pie in the face to their own President the petulant little children in the House passed in a warp speed maneuver that would make the Picard Maneuver look like a turtle ob Valium they thumbed their collective noses at everyone and passed their "middle class tax cut".
The fact that it's not a "cut" is perfectly ignored by Liberals in Congress and Liberal in the media.
But the petulant children did it anyways. You can almost see Pelosi just sticking her tongue and waggling her fingers at everyone.
Gotta preserve that core addiction that Liberal have for Class Warfare.
And, it would definitely be a great boon to job seekers everywhere if there potential bosses taxes were raised right now. That will surely make everything much better!

AN EXTENSION! of the W signed TAX CUT's ....Which was a second round of cuts .... Which is the DIRECT REASON for our CURRENT DEFICIT! So Yeah it is a cut below what it should be anyway, and was mainly used buy voters off to re-elect Shrub, then it was supposed to expire , because the USA cant AFFORD IT - Get It?

by pyotrlip December 3, 2010 5:11 AM EST: This last evening on the tube there were three or four over-$250k/year "businessmen", who each evidently operated a little factory, each saying in essence that he wouldn't be able to create another job or two if the tax cuts weren't extended to him.

Each of these guys was fat. Each had a pushy unpleasant personality. Each one appeared to be lying, judging by the smirk on each face and the folderol in which he couched his assertions. What excellent representatives of the over-$250k/year crowd that we ought to protect?!

Still, **IF** the GOP proposed legislation to extend tax cuts to over-$250k/year businesspeople WHO WOULD ACTUALLY create jobs, who would PROMISE to do so, as a condition of the tax cut, now that would be a different proposition -- I'd accept that legislation! -- but not just for people who make over $250k/year and who may or may not be in business, may or may not be in a position to create jobs, and may or may not be fat smirking liars.

As for Mr. Boner, or Boehner, as the case may be -- he appears to spend too many hours under the tanning lamp (judging by his florid face) and sucking on some bottle (judging by his bleary eyes). My tentative conclusion is that he's a blowhard drunk and ought to be thrown out of the House. It's only tentative, however, for now.; Reply to this comment

The filibuster exists in order to permit debate to be extended on issues that are considered important by minorities in the senate, so they receive a full hearing. It is not intended to be a way for a minority in the senate to rule the country. The republicans are way out of line and way out of control. They have gone rabid. The democrats currently have large majorities in the house and senate and control the white house. They have the right to pass legistlation and govern the country.

When the Democrats were using the filibuster only to block confirmation of those Bush-era judicial appointees to which they strongly objected, the Republicans threatened to change the filibuster rule (which requires only a majority vote in the Senate).

Now when the shoe is on the other foot, the republicans find it appropriate to act like judicial terrorists, threatening to derail the workings of the entire legislative branch in a massive temper tantrum until they get their tax cuts for the rich.

The time has come for the democrats to stop being pansies and govern the country. The filibuster rule only works when the major parties in the Senate use it responsibly. Since the republicans have turned it into an atom bomb to try to govern the country from a minority position in the senate, the rule is no longer useful.; Reply to this comment

This is the language of a "bean picker" ("bohner") who, in line with his background, is calling "huhner sheitze" the vote to help low-income people. If Mr. "bean-er" and his cronies do not want to be repudiated by the American people, they should start complying with the job for which they were elected, that is to make sure low-income Americans receive benefits instead of giving priority to the wealthy elite. Those republicans following this line of thinking created the financial crisis in which are now and, instead of supporting the efforts being made to return to a healthy economy, continue to insist on imposing their wrongful and illogical solutions.; Reply to this comment

It is refreshing to hear a politician call crap by what it is.

Some people are in favor of taxes Americans who make more than they do, for 2 main reasons:
1) Some people are too ignorant of economics to understand that more heavily taxing the more wealthy Americans, would redirect money out of the struggling economy and into the bloated belly of Washington. The people with more money have money to buy things, things that businesses sell - the same businesses that hire us. Taxing anyone more during a recession is idiotic - it will make unemployment even worse than it is. That is why many Democrats are beginning to back away from the idea of raising taxes.

2) Some people are envious, jealous, petty, and childish in how they view people who make more than they do. Some people think that if they don't have a certain amount of money, then no one else should have it. I know those people. When I was young man, living in a very poor neighborhood, one elderly couple purchased a new car for the first time in their life. Within a month, some jealous selfish jerk keyed the car. If they couldn't have a new car, then no one else should have one. This is sickening.

Some people are all about taxing someone else (the so called rich), but would scream like a little girl being chased by bees if the government came after their money. I am all about paying for the wars, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid - by cutting $billions of crap programs that the federal government runs - not by sucking more hard earned money out of Americans. Consider the federal study of the viscosity of ketchup (60 Minutes did a show on that one), and a host of other worthless programs. How about the study of how cow farts will cause the end of the world through global warming? I am about the federal government stopping the automatic built in expansion of federal programs, whether the program are worthwhile or not. We have all had to tighten our belts while the federal government has fattened itself over the past few years. I am ready for the federal government to tighten its own bloated belt.

I don't make anything close to $250,000, but I understand that without the more wealthy people spending money - more jobs will go away. If the government takes their discretionary funds, they won't have it to buy things - things that businesses sell - you know, those businesses that hire people.

People need to stop the hatred of those making more than we do. Some people have the mentality that if they don't have a certain amount of money, no one else should have it. It is none of my business as to how much money someone else has - it doesn't impact my life at all. Good for them. There are those in politics who have made their fortunes by pitting one group of Americans against another. Enough of this petty and hateful crap!

Just specifying an income level (such as $250k) does not establish that the earner is a job creator. They are two different things.

If the GOP proposed rational legislation specifying job creators, that might be a different matter.

If you aren't making enough money to save a million than you should work harder! How dare you use the excuse you lost your job, house, and possessions to eventual foreclosure. Don't you little peons see that America is in recovery - and if it happens to be a JOBLESS one then all the better, too many mouths on the payroll...it just was not efficient.... or in vogue... LOL.
Those Tax cuts that W Bush so wisely implemented were in Clear Genius foresight, that there would be a need for the soon to be much smaller middle class, to pick up more slack - as those of a more *ahem, affluent social standing should not have to injure or sully our soft hands pulling the even weight with the mere commoners tut! tut!
They should understand that the trickle down economics set in motion by the 'Reagan Christ' was a clear caste mold to make sure the many, never never, prospered enough to dilute the power structure of the PROPER Anglo Americans (and of course a smattering token few of lock stepping properly heeled breeds).
It is a silly hope they cling to that jobs will be created if we keep those juicy choice cuts - Heerumph! If we wanted to throw those little doggies a few mini wage work bones we would have, while we already have the cuts, but since they will take their little pittance back now ....we have a perfect "reason" not to - Joy of Joys!.
So go now, and be jealous little haters and sneer at our gold plated Mercedes SUV's just don't expect us to be the ones to go without Police or Fire/Emergency services when they are cut out of non gated communities ....of course the capital must come from some wretched state (preferably UNION) service LOLS LOLS.
