Sarah Palin Hits George and Barbara Bush as Elite "Blue Bloods"

Appearing on Laura Ingraham's radio show today, Sarah Palin said that while she "love[s] the Bushes," she sees George H.W. and Barbara Bush as "blue bloods" who are trying to "pick and choose" the 2012 Republican presidential nominee for president.

The comment comes after George H.W. Bush said former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is his favorite potential Republican presidential contender and Barbara Bush said she hopes Palin stays in Alaska.

On her radio show today, as Politico's Ben Smith reports, Ingraham said that "elites" like the Bushes are trying to "kneecap" the former Alaska governor, who has said she is considering a presidential run. (Ingraham also pointed to Republican New Jersey governor Chris Christie's apparent dismissal of Palin on Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show, where Christie said "it's an amazing world" when asked about the possibility of a Palin presidency.) Palin replied that said elites don't understand that "competition is good."

Efforts to "shoot internally" don't make sense, Palin continued, but "that's the way they roll."

"I don't want to sort of concede that we have to get used to this kind of thing, because I don't think the majority of Americans want to put up with the blue-bloods -- and I say it with all due respect, because I love the Bushes -- but the blue bloods who want to pick and chose their winners instead of allowing competition to pick and choose the winners."

"I don't know if that kind of stuff is planned out, but it is what it is, we deal with it, and as I say we forge ahead and we keep doing what we're doing," Palin added. Top Republicans are reportedly working behind the scenes to keep Palin from winning the Republican nomination out of fears that the polarizing former vice presidential candidate would lose badly to President Obama in a general election.

Palin also criticized Michelle Obama during the show, stating that her anti-obesity initiative reflects the first lady's belief that parents can't be trusted "to make decisions for their own children."

"Instead of a government thinking that they need to take over, make decisions for us according to some politician or politician's wife's priority, just leave us alone, get off our back, and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions, and then our country gets back on the right track," she said.

Sarah Palin is an honest old school , christian womanwho makes no apologies for being christian. She is actually very intelligent and I've seen very few people who think ontheir feet as quickly as she does. She has made perfectly clear ofher support of Israel and for me , this is most relevant. She should be the president right now, although she would have inherited a mess set up bu "W": and then disasterously mishandled by obama. but she can pull the U.S.up slowly and steadily if given time. She is very bright,optimistic and most of all ,she relates to the working class people of the U.S. and I believe that would be her platform. Help build the econoomy, force the money changers to let go of the monies given by the American People and Bring a shining light to the White House! She is ready to go from day one. People need to study her past comments on every issue that she has addressed in the debates and more recently, her comments on world affairs and what needs to happen here in this country to make real changes. She is down to earth, not a person that feels entitled and can relate to theeveryday problems Americans are going through day after day. The American people have had enough! give sarah a chance to show what she is capable of acomplishing!
She has definitely got my vote and and people I know and trust.

I too am a Christian (Southern Baptist) & I could not disagree with you more. All I hear from Sarah is a constant stream of negative "what's wrong". She may be intellegent but she is ignorant of all the important issues facing this country; in my opinion. I NEVER hear solutions from her. And it is well known she is being coached. If you fact check her you will find she does NOT tell the truth. When she was running for President there were many sources of information from legitament journalist that clealy revealed Sarah to be vindictive & always trying to get even with anyone who dared say anything she didn't like. Too bad she didn't spent the last couple years educating herself then she might have something to say. I see her as a huge stumbling block to Christianity. I would suggest she read 1st John; especially chapter 2. Our President is a Christian. Chapter 2 clealy says if you say you have seen the light but hate your brother, you lie. 1. She is an expert in foreign affairs and national security because you can see Russia from Alaska.

2. She posted a photo of church sign that referred to Obama as a muslim as a "favorite" then claimed it wasn't her and she didn't even know how to select favorites on FaceBook- in spite of the fact that she had already listed half a dozen other things as "favorites."

3. Couldn't tell Katie Couric what she read and blamed it on Katie as a hatchet job.

4. The government was going to have "Death Panels."

If she had said the Washington Weekly or any conservative periodical, she would have been labled a full-fledged conservative. If she had said newsweek or time they would have said oh, what article did you read? I CAN'T provide any documented evidence that baby Trig is not Sarah Palin's and not daughter Bristol's first child.

In fact, no one seems able to provide any evidence that he was ever born at all!

Certainly not Mat-Su Regional Hospital where Palin claims in her recent book that she took the Wild Ride" to from Dallas, after her water broke, bypassing world-class hospitals with NICUs in Texas, Seattle and even Anchorage where her family physician, Dr Cathy Baldwin, had privledges, pushing on to a small facility with no NiCU and which was not certified to perform such a high-risk delivery and indeed, could lose their medical certifaction if medical authorities read her book and take her ghost writer seriously. Mat-Su's only attraction seems to be that Sarah Palin had a lot of influence there.

The hospital has steadfastly refused to confirm taking part in any such delivery and there is no record of a delivery on April 18, 2008 on their online birth registry.

If it is determined that Dr Baldwin-Johnson, Palin's GP personal physician advised Palin OVER THE PHONE...WITHOUT LOCAL MEDICAL CONSULTION...to go ahead and fly 81/2 hours to Alaska, which would put both mother and child at risk (if she was actually pregnant) so she could get to a facility with no NICU and no accreditation to perform a high-risk delivery on a 44 year old patient with 4 prior births, 2 miscarriages and a 5 week premature infant known to have heart defects, Dr Baldwin-Johnson could very well lose her license to practice medicine.

When asked by a reporter from the Anchorage Daily News if she was even in the delivery room, where Palin claims in her book that she delivered Trig, she responded, "I cannot confirm that."

Palin's book makes it all different now. She was a no-name governor when all this occurred...not Sarah Palin the celebrity.

All this when Bristol Palin was absent from school for almost four months suffering from, "a persistent case of mono" She did not convalesce at home in Wasilla, however, but with an aunt in another town, later returning to school in Anchorage...not Wasilla.

Look...I'm not writing this to show that Bristol was giving it up long before Levi, but that her mother perpetrated a not-very-well-thought out hoax on the American people and more specifically, on John McCain and the GOP...

But to illustrate Sarah Palin's utter unfitness to hold ANY public office. I rather doubt that her deceitful performance had as much to do with shielding her daughter from embarrassment as it did with keeping McCain and his staff in the dark.

The Obama camp knew of the rumors, but prudently resolved not to pursue them, fearing that they would appear to be attacking a teenager who made the same mistake that plenty of others have made, which would lose votes, so they ignored it.

Sarah Palin succeeded in deceiving McCain the GOP with her fake pregnancy and delivery...it's just that Bristol then hooked up with Levi, so five months later, Palin STILL had to cop to a knocked-up, unmarried high school daughter anyway...but not until AFTER McCain had publicly committed to her as his running mate.

And thus the Palin Multimedia Empire was ...uh......born!
