Gingrich to Conservatives: "We Have to Decide we're Going to Replace the Left"

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich urged his fellow conservatives on Thursday to take steps to "replace the left" by January 2021.

Speaking in Dallas, Gingrich said that Republicans should think in terms of a ten-year plan, according to CNN. Emphasizing that planning for just the next two years won't be enough, his plan may or may not include Gingrich running in 2012.

Gingrich has been quoted saying that he, along with his wife Callista, will announce early next year if he will throw himself into the ring for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

The former speaker of the House said his goals are beyond just taking the White House for Republicans in 2012.

"If we truly want a wave of change that ends a majority system that has been around since 1932, the wave can't be the Oval Office," Gingrich said to the conservative crowd. "The only way the presidency matters is if there's a wave of citizens."

He went on to urge conservatives to continue their quest for a return to power at all levels.

"Rejection doesn't fix a center-left coalition," the former Republican congressman from Georgia said. "We have to decide we're going to replace the left."

Gingrich's speech also lambasted Democrats' economic policy in his speech, further fueling speculation that he may run against President Obama .

"The choice we want to offer in 2012 is very straight," Gingrich said, according to CNN. "If you think your children ought to have food stamps, you have a party you should vote for. And if you think your children ought to have a paycheck and own their own business, you have a party you ought to vote for."

Gingrich is currently on tour this week supporting his new book, "Valley Forge," a historical novel about George Washington. By the end of November, the book tour will have made stops in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Iowa, all important states come election season.

Before anyone even thinks about considering Gingrich for any office; they should look at this man's past in dealing with his own life.

This guy actually told his wife, lying in a hospital bed with a diagnosis of cancer; that he wanted a divorce.

I would hope the Republicans can find some one with strength of charachter and better morals to run for President.

Like the teabaggers are going to replace you. The GOP obviously don't see the handwriting on the wall. Do you remember the Whig Party.

Ok, so he is going to "replace the left", and then "your children" are suppose to all own their own businesses . . . so . . . if everyone owns their own business, who will their employees be? What Newt is REALLY saying, is, we republicans will all own our own businesses, and everyone else will get the shaft.

Yep!! All those people who were so impatient with President Obama and the Democrats now have to wait for any prospects of Republicans finding them jobs or fixing the economy. In fact I haven't heard a Republican yet tell those that voted for them how they were going to improve their lives. I have however heard them loud and clear telling the world how they won't cooperate with President Obama, how they have no intentions on compromising with the President and the Democrats and how they were going to make President Obama a one term President. Us other Americans know good and well the only way Republicans can make President Obama a one term President is if this country continues to fail and you gullible people still don't have jobs and if they can continue to keep you all scared and ill informed and blaming all your problems on President Obama. Meanwhile, they WILL be paying off those anonymous donors by giving them what ever tax breaks they can which will add to the deficit that so many of you blame President Obama for (even as they are saying that the deficit has come down some).

"We have to decide we're going to replace the left" Gingrich has reached the bottom of his shallow barrel of a brain pan. With no body else to blame the R's will have no more excuses and no place to hide.

And he and the Republicans have not been very particular that the means to do so needed to be legal. Their careless and clearly negilgent threats are now endangering school children in this country. --

Really ? seriously.....so Elliot Spitzer and Barney Fwrank can run prostitution rings, but don't dare get divorced, or some lib will bring it up for the next 15 years.....talk about intellectually vacant.

Newt never heard a catchy phrase he did not like. "Replace the Left" conceptually has no meaning. The Tea Party thinks mainstream Republicans are too far to the left. Maybe Newt wants to "Replace the Other Left". Or, "Replace Everyone Left of Me".
