Presented without comment, some of the slogans seen on signs at the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear" on the Mall in Washington today:

"Keep Big Government Out of my Cauldron." (showing Christine O'Donnell as a witch.)

"If you want to be me, be me. And if you want to be you, be you. Or, if you want to be a witch, that's OK, too!"

"I doubt this sign will change your opinion."

"I won't tread on you if you don't stomp on me."

"The status quo sucks."

What would really be sane is sitting down and saying "We got problems. We all contributed to them. I think you were mostly to blame, you think I was mostly to blame. It really doesn't matter. What matters is to figure out how to solve them.--- and then to keep talking and working together toward better times." That is what the rally was about. No matter what your party, watch a tape of the rally, it will help you understand that we are all Americans and we all need to do what we can to work together. Blaming each other is a waste of time.

So this was a joke, much the same as their political adjenda! I wonder if these people know what sanity is. It looks like a lot of pot, and other drugs may have been the rule of the day!

CBS decide not to show the signs with a Hitler mustache on Republicans like Palin and Beck.

I can't vouch for the thousands of signs, but that sort of thing was pretty rare. I saw one that was obscene- It pictured Palin, Beck and someone else (don't remember) in a triangle and "***** of Evil" in the middle of the triangle. I remember it because I was offended. It was the only one I saw that was offensive. My own sign " What exactly are they putting in that TEA?" was the most nasty one toward the Republicans that I saw. It just wasn't that kind of a rally. It was more along the theme of "Let's try playing nice and see if we can accomplish something for a country that desperately needs it." I hope the message managed to travel the short distance to the Capitol Building.
