Poll: Ohioans Dissatisfied, Angry at Washington
President Obama delivers a speech on the economy in Cleveland, Ohio on Sept. 8, 2010
/ CBS News/ Josh GrossMore than three in four Ohio residents describe themselves as either dissatisfied or angry at Washington, a new CBS News/New York Times poll finds. Just 18 percent say they are satisfied, and only three percent are enthusiastic.
The percentage of Ohioans who say they are angry at Washington is 29 percent - nine points higher than the 20 percent of Americans who are angry at Washington overall, according to a CBS News/New York Times poll taken earlier this month. Forty-seven percent of Ohioans said they are dissatisfied.
Asked how they feel about how things are going in their state, Ohioans were similarly pessimistic. A majority of 57 percent described themselves as dissatisfied, and 17 percent called themselves angry. Just 21 percent said they are satisfied, and only three percent were enthusiastic.
The CBS News/New York Times poll on Ohio will be released in full at 6:30 p.m.
This poll was conducted among a random sample of 1,114 adults in Ohio, interviewed by telephone September 23-27, 2010, including 973 registered voters. Phone numbers were dialed from random digit dial samples of both standard land-line and cell phones. The error due to sampling for results based on the entire sample could be plus or minus three percentage points. The error for subgroups is higher.

- A poll of 1,114 people -- of which only 973 are registered to vote. Why in all the world would the people that don't even bother to take their rights and reponsibilities seriously get a say in how the government -- they don't vote for -- is doing? =========== Just another example of why Opinion Polls are ruining American politics. That and the blame game Americans use... it is never personl responsibility that puts people down, is it? It's all the government's fault. Wake up America -- we are the government (except the creeps that don't bother to even vote).

- Nice political statement but the reality is that they are angry at the politicians in Washington, both Democratic and Republican. In comes the Tea Party which is growing daily. This is what happens when people feel their incomes and values are being threathened. For millions of working Americans, corporations are their bread and butter.

- They should be angry at the REAL enemy of democracy, the big multi-national corporations and the filthy rich top 1% (who get almost 25% of the income of the United States).

- You mean the ones sitting on $4b in cash, but not hiring people?

- big multi-national corporations employ most of the United States - what would you do without them you idiot. And that top 1% don't 'get' that 25%, they made that money... they sold products and services that people valued enough to purchase. What, pray tell, did YOU do to deserve that money instead? You go right ahead & try to better yourselves by stealing from those who created wealth - and when they stop creating the wealth that employs people like you because you think YOU'RE entitled to it simply by having majority populace... what are you going to do then?
