Kirsten Gillibrand the "Hottest" Senator, Reid Says
New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand
/ APSenate Majority Leader Harry Reid raised eyebrows at a New York City fundraiser hosted by Mayor Michael Bloomberg Monday morning when he referred to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand as the "hottest member," according to CNN.
Gillibrand, who was seated only a few feet away from Reid at Bloomberg's New York townhouse, flushed with embarrassment at the comment, CNN reports.
According to a Politico source, Reid delivered remarks praising New York's senior senator, Chuck Schumer, before turning to Gillibrand and adding that, "many senators are known for many things," and that "we in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member."
Reid spokesman Jim Manley acknowledged that Reid made the comment, but emphasized that the Nevada senator had then gone on to compliment Gillibrand for a variety of non-physical attributes, including her extensive knowledge of securities law. "What can I say, she made The Hilll's 'Most Beautiful' list," Manley said to Politico. "Of course [Reid] also went on to praise her skill and tenacity and described her as an effective member of the New York delegation as well."
"The Leader was saying nice things about the work Senator Gillibrand and Senator Reid have done together over the last year and half, and made a joke referencing to the Hill article from earlier this year," Gillibrand spokesman Matt Cantor said this morning to CNN.
"Senator Gillibrand has the utmost respect for Senator Reid and looks forward to continue working together to repeal [Don't Ask Don't Tell], pass 9/11 health, and create good-paying jobs across the country," Cantor said.
Gillibrand, who was appointed to the New York Senate after Hillary Clinton was named Secretary of State, was ranked number three on the Hill's "50 Most Beautiful People" list earlier this year.

So, in his mind, a US Senator should be evaluated on looks?
As far as the TEA Party candidate, Sharron Angle, the GOP nominee: ..."And that's really what's happening in this country is a violation of the First Commandment." Angle said in an April 21 interview with TruNews Christian Radio's Rick Wiles.
She doesn't even have a clue there is a 1st Ammendment.
MSNBC's (July 6,2010) Morning Joe: "JOE SCARBOROUGH: A race that I have been basically putting to the side saying that it is a Republican pickup: Harry Reid. Harry Reid more unpopular in the state of Nevada"..."and yet he may win."..."MARK HALPERIN (discussing Angle): She's for abolishing Social Security, the Department of Education. She favors the Yucca Mountain nuclear depository in her state which is about a 70/30 issue against her. She's not shown a prime time ability to raise money and she's not shown a prime time ability to walk back some of these positions."
Did the government do nerve gas experiments on the residents of Nevada during the cold war? Both of their candidates sound like mental patients; maybe what happens in Vegas really should stay in Vegas.
Reid doesn't have a clue about anything and seems to be a doddering idiot who flagrantly abuses his power. However, for an alternative the voters of Nevada have Angle? She's so far out of mainstream we should track her using NASA radar designed for deep-deep space.
So who is going to be Nevada's embarassment in Washington? You can flip a coin it's like a contest between Dumb and Dumber. But mostly Senator Gillibrand sure did not deserve the kind of treatment she received.
Makes me wonder...
And Harry's supposed to be such a nice, clean-living Mormon boy...
So where are Barbara Boxer ("BaBo") and Diane Feinstein ("DiFi")? They went after Republicans mercilessly when sexual inappropriateness reared its head. But then they gave people like Billy Clinton and Bwarney Fwank a pass too so this is just more of the same.
Pathetic.
