Sarah Palin: Critics are "Lying About a Sister"

Sarah Palin has responded to a video from the pro-abortion rights group EMILY's List in which women dressed in bear costumes discuss how their "cubs" are threatened by the agenda of Palin and the candidates she supports.

In a post on Facebook lauding the 90th anniversary of women's suffrage - and offering a new round of endorsements of Republican candidates - Palin complains that "I've recently come under attack for speaking up for sisters who seek to serve in public office."

"The sad part is that the attack comes from other sisters who happen to be on the other side of an issue that has been of great importance to American women from the time of our feminist foremothers, Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, down to today. I'm speaking of the issue of life," she writes.

Palin then offers "advice" to "our sisters who like to throw stones at those of us who respectfully disagree with them on this issue." She writes that such women "refuse to even countenance the fact that some of us can call ourselves feminists and disagree with those who claim the mantle of 'real feminists.'"

"First, ladies, it's hard to take a critic seriously when they lecture you wearing a bear suit," she continues. "So, it's difficult for me to drum up much outrage at this latest ad. But, really, lying about a sister while wearing an Ewok outfit is no way to honor our foremothers on the eve of the 90th anniversary of their victory."

The former Alaska governor then twists the knife.

"But, that aside, I'd love to know where you got those get-ups," she writes. "Halloween is just around the corner, and Piper and Trig would look adorable as little grizzly bears."

The EMILY's List video, "Sarah Doesn't Speak for Me," features left-leaning women who claim the mantle of "Mama Grizzlies," a phrase used by Palin to describe her supporters. The say that under the policies of Palin and the candidates she endorses, their "cubs" would be denied health care coverage, abortion rights and unemployment benefits.

In a separate post on Twitter, Palin referred to those who "hijacked" the term feminist as "A cackle of rads who want 2 crucify other women w/whom they disagree on a singular issue; it's ironic (& pass?)."

Palin is like a heat-seeking missile going toward the red-hot spotlight. She'll find it wherever it is. Self promotion is her primary goal. She's not very intelligent. The things she stands for are more for dramatic effect than any true philosophy. And does she love the drama! She is a marshmellow, all fluff and no subtance. I wonder what all this says about her rabid followers...

Leave Sarah alone. What we should really be concerned with is what OBOZO is doing in office. Unemployment just went up again for the third straight week and Iran just shot up test missiles. Meanwhile, Obozo is on vacation at Martha's Vinyards. He is no leader!

But Sarah Palin and McSame campaigned on Bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran. How is that respecting life?

And the same people that oppose abortion also mostly oppose giving welfare and health care to children. How is that respecting life?

I agree with you about the hypocrisy regarding welfare for those children born into poverty. I am pro-life, but I do not oppose welfare which clearly demonstrates why it is reckless to paint people (those with intelligence anyway) with a broad stroke. It is why politicians and their pundits appeal to emotion because on intellect they would lose.

Great response Sarah. I so tire of those who think one is less than a woman or less than contemporary because they oppose abortion. That no more means that we long for the days of subservience than we do manual washing of clothes. I concur with Sarah that we should be embraced for our principles on life even if they do not align with those of other women. NOW & NARAL are provocateurs of psuedo controversy.

Sarah Palin is the dumbo gift that just keeps giving. She is spitting the KKKlan party of No and is unifying Democrats all over the country.

Go, Sarah, go!

I agree. Sarah may be getting rich off the bads of redneck Republicans dumb enough to attend her lectures, but more importanly she's making the rest of every day America stand up and take notice of what can happen to our country when nut cases like her take the podium.

Nothing Palin says or does has to me any relevance, beyond that it is coming from a mindless fruitcake. Palin could care less about her offspring. If she were hiking with her children and a grizzly attacked she'd throw her kids toward the grizzly and run the other way. Reality is reality. Unfortunately her 'reality show' will show little truth.

You know, I think that the left is softening up on Sarah Palin. Folks don't seem to be calling her as many names as usual on these posts. I think that the libs and dems are being won over by her down home folksy charm. Even all the perpetually predictable attacks by these Emily's list are striking as hollow and lacking in intelligent debate. The health care thing is starting to be understood by more people as the debacle it is. Their stance against business seems pretty weak when families are hoping for more business so that moms and dads can find a job. More people are looking deeper than the "right to choose" motto and asking the true questions like, "when is a life a life?"

Yep, Palin is looking pretty good to more and more folks while those who refuse to shave their pits are being distanced more and more.

I won't argue that Palin looks good. But she should keep it at that and if she really wanted to do some good, she would pose in Maxim as a hometown hottie. Other than that, waste of oxygen and she should let more intelligent people deal with real issues. Find a new person to look up to sheirp.

And another thing. Anyone who supports Palin is just another Star effer. Who cares wha this chick thinks about Dr. Laura? Do you see any other (respected) political candidates even caring about Dr. Laura?
And why are Palin headlines always found under Politics? Her headlines should be posted under Entertainment. That's what she really wants and what all Palin supporters really want, even they are too dim like her to see it.
