Sarah Palin Attacked by "Mama Grizzlies" from EMILY'S List

Pro-abortion rights group EMILY'S List is today launching a campaign suggesting that America's so-called "Mama Grizzlies" - a phrase coined by Sarah Palin to describe her supporters - don't all come from Palin's side of the political spectrum.

"Throughout this cycle, Sarah Palin has predicted a rising tide of mothers and women voters who will support her so-called 'Mama Grizzly' candidates," EMILY's List President Stephanie Schriock said in a release. "Palin has made it her mission to defeat candidates who have worked hard to champion the rights of women and families across the country and replace them with conservative candidates who want to repeal health care, stand with big business, and eliminate a woman's right to choose. So today, EMILY's List is calling on women - and men! - to let their voices be heard and to reject Palin's reactionary candidates and backward-looking agenda."

The group, which focuses on getting candidates who support abortion rights elected, has put out a web video (watch it above) and is pushing a campaign called "Sarah Doesn't Speak for Me" meant to appeal to Democrats, independents and "moderate Republicans who have no home."

The video shows women dressed in bear costumes talking about how their "cubs" are threatened by the agenda of Palin and the candidates she supports, and discuss the possibility of losing health care coverage, abortion rights and unemployment benefits.

Anti-abortion rights group the Susan B. Anthony List, which recently concluded a 23-city bus tour designed to spotlight its support for candidates who oppose abortion rights, quickly hit back with a statement suggesting "EMILY's List is running scared."

"EMILY's List is busy perpetuating what it purports to abhor: using women candidates with whom they disagree as punching bags," said Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser. "On the eve of the 90th anniversary of women's suffrage, the SBA List calls upon EMILY's List to come to grips with reality."

Palin's backing has helped numerous Republicans emerge from crowded primary fields and win their party's support, among them South Carolina gubernatorial nominee Nikki Haley.

The "Sarah Doesn't Speak for Me" website "will feature a new multi-media interactive website, a page for users to share personal stories, and information about the radical agenda of Palin's candidates and where they stand on critical issues," says EMILY's List. "It includes branded merchandise and an aggressive online presence that will extend our reach to a broad and diverse range of audiences and, through a targeted advertising campaign, get more than six million impressions."

EMILY'S List, which says it raised more than $43 million to support candidates in the 2007-2008 campaign cycle, also likely hopes the site will drive fundraising.

Opinions about abortion rights have remained steady for the past decade.

In a CBS News poll conducted last November, 34 percent felt abortion should be generally available to those who want it, 40 percent felt it should be available but under stricter limits than it is now, and 23 percent felt it should not be permitted at all.

You know how you can tell Sarah Palin is lying? Her lips are moving. I am embarrased to tell people I live in Alaska. Sarah Palin is the worst thing that could have happened to a very nice state. It is really scary the people that follow and believe what she says. A sad commentery on the intelligence of some American folks. I guess these are the ones that just can't think for themselves and want ol Sarah to do it for them.

Abortion is no longer stylish. Now you girls can sleep with a different Homey every night for five nights and then take a pill and it's over. No more waiting 8 months and putting a drill through the kids skull.

Although I am pro-choice, I greatly admire Sarah Palin, and would vote for her in a heartbeat. I watched Greta Van Sustern in Alaska with the Palins, and no matter what question was asked of her, she had a ready and comprehive answer. She knows Alaska, the oil industry, ecological concerns, the problems facing America, and has solutions! Sarah Palin is a true patriot.

Yes, but at the same time Margarette Sanger was trying to get information and knowledge spread to the men and women of that time.. seeing that women were not even allowed knowledge of their own personal medical history, and many other atrocities that I wont go into right now... do you think that Mrs. Sanger would have condoned the actual abortion procedure in itself? I believe that she felt that knowledge was power--ie-birth control--condoms, pills ect... I don't feel that she meant go out and abort the child. Who knows exactly what she thought. Just food for thought. My other question to you is this... I am not sure if you are female or not, but if you were (as I am) do you not think instead of name-calling (bimbo) the other woman that you should try to better educate her or debate the issue because I think that's the point: We're women and whatever we choose (whether you agree with Mrs Palin or not) that we should let us (as the woman) have the right to say it and have the choice--including Pro-Life?

If you want to really know how Margaret Sanger felt about abortion, you might want to read Killer Angel. She was heavy into eugenics, sterilization of those she considered unfit as evidenced in her "Negro Project." More details at this link. She's not what Planned Parenthood would have you believe. More liberal propaganda.
http://www.blackgenocide.org/sanger.html

"Through detailed research and concise writing, Grant unveils Sanger's true character and ideology, which included blatant racism, revolutionary socialism, sexual perversion and insatiable avarice. Grant includes direct quotes from sources such as Sanger's Birth Control Review to support his findings. His biography spans Sanger's disturbed and unhappy upbringing?which Sanger said contributed to her agitation and bitterness later in life?to her eventual fixation with drugs, alcohol and the occult.

Particularly shocking was Sanger's involvement in the Eugenics movement. Grant says: "[Sanger] was thoroughly convinced that the ?inferior races' were in fact ?human weeds' and a ?menace to civilization.' . . . [S]he was a true believer, not simply someone who assimilated the jargon of the times?as Planned Parenthood officials would have us believe."

You know, I think that the left is softening up on Sarah Palin. Folks don't seem to be calling her as many names as usual on these posts. I think that the libs and dems are being won over by her down home folksy charm. Even all the perpetually predictable attacks by these Emily's list are striking as hollow and lacking in intelligent debate. The health care thing is starting to be understood by more people as the debacle it is. Their stance against business seems pretty weak when families are hoping for more business so that moms and dads can find a job. More people are looking deeper than the "right to choose" motto and asking the true questions like, "when is a life a life?"

Yep, Palin is looking pretty good to more and more folks while those who refuse to shave their pits are being distanced more and more.

Uh I think you better look at the most recent polls concerning her popularity. Even Alaskans have wised up and the majority now reject her. The only people Palin looks good to is the radical far right that needs somebody else to think for them.
