President Obama Friday flew Marine One from the White House less than six miles to Northwest D.C.

He choppered to Gelberg Signs, the Washington, D.C.-based company where he'll deliver remarks on the economy and July employment numbers. According to Google maps, the drive would have taken about 20 minutes from the White House.

By CBS News' Mark Knoller's count, this is the president's 300th flight on Marine One.

As to why the president choppered to a company in D.C., spokesman Bill Burton said, "Probably because it's an easier than a motorcade through the city in the middle of the day."

Egregious Offenses
Following are some examples of
more serious UPL offenses investi-
gated by the Bar:
In 1995, Gary Pernice was dis-
barred, received a 45-year proba-
tion and was ordered to make resti-
tution totaling more than $3 mil-
lion to victims of a Ponzi scheme he
orchestrated with a friend. Two
years later, Pernice was caught
conducting business as a lawyer.
He was sentenced to nine years in
prison for UPL and defrauding a
client out of $250,000.

Writing on the economy in 2009, Gary Pernice of the Platinum Business Group LTD said:

"I appreciate Mr. Hands candid self assessment and insight as to his own mistakes and how his experiences are helping form his predictions for the future?especially equity funds.

I concur with Mr. Hands? assessment?equity funds are not dead, but they certainly are and will likely remain very anemic for the foreseeable future. We are not seeing much lending going on from banks and traditional funding sources. Rather, we anticipate a very, very slow recovery. The primary concern from our perspective is with the significant government (Congress) overreaching and massive government spending that shall certainly cause heartburn in the trenches for years to come.

He could have taken the Metro just like the rest of us.

Barry could start a new trend. Just like all the rich businessmen used to have their own railroad cars, he could have his own subway car, "Metro One". And it would be just like all the others: no A/C, constant delays between stations, overcrowding on the platforms, etc.

After all, he wants to portray himself as a "man of the people", let him prove it.

Can anyone besides me see a similarity between Barry and Pee-We Herman? Barry's Great Adventure, playing in your town soon. If it aint already.

SPEND SPEND SPEND SPEND SPEND SPEND SPEND SPEND......
Pissing away taxpayer dollars has become his and his wife's favorite past time. I don't give a damn who the elected official is..... they should have to stay within a STRICT budget and do everything possible to not waste taxpayer dollars. We all know the pres has to spend money to do the job, but in these harsh eco times, he should be setting an example on saving and being thrifty. Has he not heard of: GoToMeeting, webcasting, YouTube, Facebook, Memos, etc. He should be doing everything possible to cut spending everywhere. Instead, he acts like a kid on Christmas.
Why don't we all just withhold paying taxes and say to Hell with all you politicians. Stop pissing our hard earned dollars away...

He is just like any other fed. Why expect more? All everyone does in government is spend. It is all they know how to do. Nothing gets solved. They manage crisis to keep their jobs and importance.

Unless he left the secret service behind, they all made the trip by car, as well as the FBI, local police, and probalby 500 other people that chase him around. If he is such a regular guy, give him a Volt, and let him drive himself! He can't move without spending $100,000.

I read all of the comments about how it is better to fly rather than drive. As far as convenience for the public this is true. But my question is, why is he making the trip anyway? To get out and make a few comments about the economy seems a bit of a waste, anyway. Most people can see what the economy is doing. When he says that we haved turned the corner because we are adding jobs every month most people know this is bovine fecal matter.
