Arizona Democrat Closes Office After Finding Bullet

Arizona Democratic Rep. Raul Grijalva, a vocal opponent of his state's controversial immigration law, has closed his district office in Yuma after a bullet was discovered inside, the Hill reports.

In a statement, Grijalva's office said one of the office windows had been shattered.

"A shattered window and bullet inside the office were found earlier today. Police are investigating the incident and have not released details about a potential motive," his office said. "Rep. Grijalva intends to open the office again as soon as possible."

The bullet was found one day after a judge blocked the most controversial parts of the Arizona immigration law, which went into effect today. Opponents of the measure held protests in Phoenix in conjunction with the law going into effect.

As the Associated Press notes, Grijalva called for a boycott of his state after the immigration law passed. He rescinded that call after the judge's decision.

Following passage of the health care bill in March, lawmakers faced threats and had bricks thrown through office windows, among other violence.

Our Government, Republican & Democrat, have allowed the invasion of 30 million criminals and is the largest invasion of any Nation, in direct violation of Article IV, Section IV of our Constitution.

This refusal to abide by our Constitution should be classified as Treason as grounds for IMPEACHMENT & trials for Treason!

Not only have they allowed the invasion, they force American tax payers to pay Billions of dollars to provide Welfare, Prison, Educate the invaders children,free medical care, at the same time the invading horde break numerous laws, massive document fraud, & are destroying our schools, hospitals, communities, culture and standard of living while Robbing, Raping, Killing & Assaulting American Citizens WAKE UP PEOPLE! Every single Non-representing representative, up to and including obama and holder need to be IMPEACHED! for not upholding the oath of office that they swore to uphold and defend the Constitution! If these clowns were to do their job, this would all be a Moot point!

At age 66, I had enough experience in VietNam and Somalia and from being an LEO for many years to realize that most of your information and wisdom comes from the end of a joint and the evil cool aid you choose to drink.

After living in South America, all over the US and in Europe with my parents, I was 19 BEFORE I EVEN knew about segregation. I NEVER once looked at my friends as black, white, tan, red, or yellow. And through the years, it has NOT mattered one whit to me. I deal with people as Dr. Marin Luther King said to do, I deal with them on the content of their CHARACTER, not their skin. As an adult, I was fortunate enough to nearly replicate the trail of travel I had as a child. The results were the same, even in areas where I stood out as a foreigner like in Japan, Thailand, Korea. Even In Europe, middle and South AmericaI was "still different" and had to what the "natives" did not. Every where I went were good, decent, hard working people. Most who admired my being from the USA and wished to immigrate.

My disadvantage was, as an "outsider" and unable to assimilate to an equal level. I was always treated with respect, but there was a point at which I could do no more. Laws of most host countries kept me from owning property or running a business. I had to account for my whereabouts and comings and goings. There were limits on where I could go, how long I could stay and what I could do. Not much different than what out immigration laws stipulate.

I have forgotten more about this topic than YOU know or will ever KNOW!!!

Since I was out of the country for most of the fifties, sixties and seventies, living among the many that wanted to be immigrants to the USA, I was NOT one of the ones you "SAW plenty of" except in the clouds of smoke around your addled head.

I don't make threats. I was responding the fact that a rather violent one had been made and expressing my thought of why that action was taken. It is mindless, irrational people like you that force other extremist to respond like the Roman Senate did to Julius Cesar. If the fanatics in charge fail to hear and heed the will of the people, there always those that will make a profound and, likely, violent statement of discontent.; Reply to this comment

It is unfortunate that a point had to made with a bullet, but the 2x4 apparently was not working. One has to sometimes resort to extremes to get the attention of a jackass!

Does this idiot REALLY think NOT pursuing, prosecuting and deporting ILLEGAL immigrants is good for his constituents and all the other citizens of Arizona. When will he become a believer? After his wife or daughter is a victim of an illegal immigrant rapist/murderer.

What part of "we have NO, repeat, NO problems with LEGAL immigrants" don't these idiots understand? All he and his ilk are doing is perpetuating a new class of slaves by "keeping them in their place".

Ironically this IQ challenged AZ legislator didn't bother to do his homework before screaming for tourism boycotts. The tourism industry is the biggest employer of illegals. So essentially while calling for a boycott that failed (thank you American citizens bookings up 11% last month in AZ) it would have economically damaged illegals most. He is an embarrassment even to the Democratic party. Grijalva won't need the office much longer. In November bets are even his own people will remove him from office.

I've never heard of a democrat in favor of illegal immigration. The people who benefit of illegal immigration are the people who hire illegals. A good recipe against illegal immigration : enforce the miminum wage legislation.
