Sarah Palin: There's a "Sickness and Darkness" in Liberal Media

AP Photo/Kiichiro Sato

Sarah Palin has taken to her Facebook page to complain about the media's "heart of darkness" as evidenced by e-mail exchanged on an ostensibly private listserv called JournoList concerning a conspiracy theory about her son Trig.

"There is a sickness and darkness in today's liberal media," Palin writes.

Palin's complaint is tied to the release by the Daily Caller of emails exchanged between JournoList members, the vast majority of whom are openly liberal writers and commentators, discussing the theory (about which there is no evidence) that Trig's mother is actually Bristol Palin, the former Alaska governor's daughter.

"It's tough to fittingly describe these numerous members of the mainstream media who actively engaged in the debate about this conspiracy back when I was first introduced as John McCain's running mate, and it's impossible to legitimize any 'prominent' media publication that continues to traffic in this bizarre narrative today," Palin writes on Facebook.

"This JournoList exchange exposes the warped nature of today's media, thus explaining why many of us are forced, in fairness to the public, to utilize other mediums to communicate until the mainstream media wakes up and begins respecting the public's intelligence and desire for truth in reporting," she adds.

The JournoList discussion includes a reference to Trig as "Palin's Downs child," earning a rebuke from another member who writes that "we should be respectful in how we refer to people with disabilities."

Many members of the list urged others not to cover the conspiracy theory.

Wrote Ezra Klein, the now-shuttered listserv's founder: "Seriously, folks? Best case scenario, what's your outcome here: Her daughter, hounded by the tabloids, breaks down that it was her child, and her mother heroically took on the burden and welcomed the disabled boy as one of her own? Palin's relationship with her children -- however they may have come to her -- strikes me as pretty far out of bounds. By all accounts she's a wonderful mother, and devoted to her fifth son. Leave this be."

Palin earlier called a Daily Caller story about JournoList an "eye-opener," adding that "It's encouraging for commonsense conservatives who are frustrated with media cover-ups and biases to see truth revealed."

Please, it's enough already! Liberals have a love hate relationship with this woman. You don't want her to become President, but you keep putting her back in the spot light. Get a life, apply for a job, do something positive for a change. Jeez!

By the way, where is the birth certificate. If Obama is not a Manchurian President no-one could dig up any evidence to prove it.

As for Palin, her resume is line-by-line far better than Obama + Carter.

Left / right - both extremes are just as whacked. I saw a car with "Where's the birth certificate?" bumper sticker. Neither extreme has a life.

What I find most telling here is that the journalist or pseudo journalist who were trafficing in this rumor were NOT PUBLISHING this rumor.

Who is publishing these rumors?
Who is giving air time to these rumors???
Sarah Palin is giving time and energy and publicity to these rumors.

Think about that.

She is a selfish woman and horrible mother. Supporting Socialism when she was Gov. of Alaska than running round the USA saying Obama is a Socialist. Ill tell you what Socialism has allowed, woman to leave the kitchen and open their mouths and lie like men. Along with this, Palins handicap child will be getting help, if not already, from Socialism. She is a horrible woman, evil to the core, and should go out hunting with a drunk Dick Cheney.

Another red herring tactic of the conservatives who can babble about anything but the issues. Energy reformation, financial reform, employment and so forth. INSTEAD THEY DISTRACT US WITH WILLY NILLY MALARCHY. Such as immigration issues and soap operas of their personnel lives. Imagine we squabble over who will be allowed to pick our tomatoes while we neglect oil, energy, employment, health, financials. That the conservatives expended $200 million on lobbyist to shoot down financial reform, amazing so much cost for us to remain in a financial system that is pocketed with loop holes for the elite conservatives. No wonder they run a 24/7 marathon propaganda site.
How is it some states have legist ration to the suppression of alternative energies? Oil elitist conservative agendas?
Obstructing the infrastructure for a computerized medical system. 5 years is not enough time, so the dark forces of the shadowy medical personnel, whine. Perhaps we should hire the Chinese?s to come and show them how. After all the conservatives, via a loan, sold our country to them. Perhaps Palin can sense these dark forces so well is because she is immersed within the dark forces of the conservatives parties.

I find this whole arguement ridiculous and who cares. For whatever reason Sarah Palin was having problems dealing with giving birth to a child with Downs syndrome. I would think that this would include her in a very large group of women who have struggled with the same problem/decision. It highly more likely that a woman at her age would give birth to a Down syndrome than a young girl like Bristol. Even with this.. Who cares.. Why is this an issue. It is not like the child was given away.. kept in a closet.. To the contrary if anything she has in my opinion exploited this issue and taken advantage of it politically. I am not fond of Sarah Palin. She "Goes Rogue" in nearly every speech she gives.. or interview. Fact checking her speeches alone has become mandatory if you want to keep whatever she says in perspective. I do not, nor have I ever questioned the kind of mother she is. She has great kids... leave it alone..

I think it's extremely funny how democrats/liberals claim to be the party of "love and acceptance", yet they love to hate on Sarah Palin and anyone who disagrees with them. Hypocritical? Indeed it is. We all know that Sarah had the baby. For those of you who hate her so much, why dedicate your life commenting and creating blogs that spread lies and hate about her? All you are doing is rallying American people behind her. Your beloved Obama and democrat congress will be out of office very soon, and the republican party will have you to thank. I suggest you take advice from your successful repulican counterparts and go get a life and make something of it. I could go on and on about your thinking errors, but your comments already prove them.

Ah, where do I begin? Not sure where you got the whole "love and acceptance" thing. I'm a liberal and yet I do not love nor accept racists or homophobes, for example. And I certainly don't love and accept politicians who claim to be pro-life and yet endanger their child's life in any way. Please, if you will, review the facts as stated by Palin herself in her autobiography. She writes that "life is precious" and yet she did not seek medical attention right away when she felt things were awry (and even, in an interview, stated that she was actually leaking amniotic fluid). How do you know that she had the baby? Because she told you so? Because her parents told you so? There is no independent corroboration from anyone as to this "fact." No birth certificates, no hospital announcement, no nothing. My "beloved Obama" produced his birth certificate and a birth announcement when presented with questions by the MSM. Sarah has no problem with people and the media asking THAT question, but freaks out when she's asked about this very odd story. Why not produce a birth certificate and be done with it? What better way to shut up everyone who is part of the "sickness and darkness?" Why not?

"democrats/liberals claim to be the party of 'love and acceptance'"

False. What we have is Republicans/conservatives making the claim that "democrats/liberals claim to be the party of love and acceptance." Do you see the difference?

"they love to hate on Sarah Palin and anyone who disagrees with them."

Do you have any idea how arrogant it is to claim to know what emotions others are experiencing, including love or hate? Are you so sensitive that you are actually able to feel others' feelings? If not, then shut up and let them tell you what they're feeling. Don't tell them. Listen to what people are actually saying instead.

Challenge: prove that you aren't projecting your own hatred onto others, as indicated by your calling people liars when they aren't lying, using phrases like "get a life," and falsely accusing them of "thinking errors." Is that your idea of "loving" your enemies?

"We all know that Sarah had the baby."

And how is it that "we all know" this? What evidence do you have that Sarah didn't fake it?

Have a good day. Treat people well.
