Dick Cheney Released From Hospital

Former Vice President Dick Cheney addresses the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), in Washington, Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010.

/ AP

Former Vice President Dick Cheney has been released from George Washington University Hospital, according to his spokesperson Peter Long.

Cheney, who has long fought heart disease, was admitted to the hospital on Friday after complaining of discomfort. Following testing over the weekend, Cheney was given IV treatment for retention of fluid related to his coronary artery disease, which improved his condition. A source familiar with the case told CBS News that the incident nonetheless confirmed Cheney's "tenuous cardiac status."

Cheney suffered his fifth heart attack in February and had a heart valve catheterized. The 69-year-old suffered his first heart attack at age 37.

Cheney has been a fierce critic of President Obama since leaving office at the start of 2009, particularly when it comes to the president's national security and foreign policy positions.

This is our Curse! We must live with this horrible low life creature who has NEVER done ANYTHING, NOTHING, ZERO... Na Da to move our nation forward or help anyone who isn't rich. I think it is safe to say that EVIL will never die! I say this on the day when a truly great leader has died. Senator Byrd DID help a LOT of people who were never rich.

LOL!

Thats right! Senator Byrd was in the KKK and Cheney was not so he one up'ed him right?

Imagine what a better place the world would have been if this SOB had died with his first heart attack in 1978.

Someone really listens to Palin? Concerning Cheney, I have no interest in liberal or conservative causes but this is the character who was a decision maker in the criminal invasion of Iraq and a conspirator in the actions that led to the deaths of thousands of innocents. Now I am supposed to be kind and charitable to him?

Edema, otherwise known as water, apparently he had to much of it.
If the heart isn't pumping enough, water can build up, especially in the lower extremities. That means it can reoccur. Also, last time I saw a picture of his sideways profile he looked portly. Not good for a heart patient. See his picture above, I didn't know he had such a pointed head
