Protester Diane Wilson Disrupts Tony Hayward Testimony (Video)

As BP CEO Tony Hayward began his opening statement before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce today, a woman with what appeared to be oil smeared on her hands and face disrupted the hearing, yelling, in part, "you need to be charged with a crime."

She was eventually subdued and escorted out by capitol police while continuing to yell that Hayward should be charged with a crime and go to jail.

The protester was the same woman arrested at a Senate hearing last week - Diane Wilson, a Texas shrimper and activist and co-founder of Codepink for Peace.

At that hearing, Wilson dumped what appeared to be oil on herself to protest Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski's blocking of a bill that would have lifted BP's liability cap.

We as a nation aren't helping Americans with jobs,if we continue letting BP gas leak oil into the Gulf of Mexico. There has got to be a number of solutions for this cleanup. Who is holding who accountable ??? What is wrong with making BP gas pay a fine for letting this happen.?? What happened to the professionals in this area?? Come on , will someone get a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Gulf is being turned into a cesspool at the hands of a greedy and negligent oil industry enabled by the corrupt Mineral Managment Services in the Interior Department. The United States has no energy policy because our government refuses to allow this country to evolve; inaction and status quo is all that we have seen for decades even after the gas/oil crisis of the 70s. It's no wonder that we are fast becoming a second class nation with a future more bleak then prosperous. As far as the Gulf I guess history has taught us nothing; when you destroy the very environment that sustains you money means absolutely nothing. Diane, thanks for standing up for the people of the Gulf and their environment and way of life.

Perfect place to do what she did. She is fighting for what is right and has the guts to do it. Keep it up Diane ! You are taking action and I applaud you for it. Sometimes we have to make a scene to get the point across. They shoud be held criminaly liable and she is right. There is a old Cree Indian saying " When the last tree has died and the last river has been posioned and the last fish has been caught we realize we cannot eat money"

that's like the old cree saying "screaming squaw lathered in oil should be roasted over hot coals like buffalo steak for interrupting tribal pow wow".

Way to go Diane !!!. Clearly alot of you do not know Diane's history. She has stood up and fought for the gulf coast for years. There is a DOC. called " Quest to save turtle island" about her. She comes from a long line of family of shrimpers. Thank god for people like Diane. She does seem to get under the skin of small minded people, but so what everyone does to those kind of thinkers. Maybe if more people had the balls to stand up for what is right, we might not be in this BP mess. Keep it up Daine, lots of us stand behind you!!!!

Check out the look of the woman in her row: "Get off of me, you oil-covered wench!" The kids looks are also funny: "Who is this oil-covered freak stepping on my feet?" I guess there is a right place and time for such things. If you're bowling over your peers and stepping on their feet and rolling on the floor, then you must be wrong place, wrong time! Popeye to oil-covered, shrimp-harvesting sea hag: Get off the poor kids' feet, for durn sake. Don't you sense the woman behind you? She pounding on your back, saying, "Get off of me, you freak! Get out of my space!" "Arr, arr, arr, arr, arr!"

Multinational corporations when the superficials like societal and governmental mainstreaming and normalization are removed appear more like crime rings. Legalized organized crime rings.
