Mitt Romney to Campaign for John McCain In Arizona

Former Massachusetts governor and 2008 presidential candidate Mitt Romney has announced that he will campaign for Senator John McCain (R - Ariz.) next week.

According to McCain's campaign website, Romney will join the senator in Mesa, Arizona for a town hall meeting on Friday, June 4th.

McCain, a four-term senator, is leading former Scottsdale Congressman J.D. Hayworth in a close race in the Republican primary in Arizona. The primary will be held in August.

The announcement may come as a surprise, as during the 2008 presidential race Romney and McCain, both seeking the Republican nomination, appeared to be bitter rivals.

The day before the Florida GOP primary, Romney slammed McCain by saying, "If you ask people, 'Look at the three things Senator McCain has done as a senator,' if you want that kind of a liberal Democratic course as president, then you can vote for him."

McCain quickly responded to the accusations with this: "The truth is, Mitt Romney was a liberal governor of Massachusetts who raised taxes, and managed his state's economy incompetently, leaving Massachusetts with less job growth than 46 other states."

Yet with Romney endorsing McCain both in the 2008 general election and earlier this year in this race, the past looks to be behind them.

McCain recently stepped up his campaign by launching a series of radio and television ads blasting Hayworth for his views on congressional earmarks.

John McCain is a frustrated, desperate, frighten and scared senile old man. That will say, do and lie about anything to get re-elected. He's even trying to buy the election with his wife's money. That won't help him, because the people of AZ are just tired of John McCain and his dirty lying, underhanded, backing stabbing, warmongering, racist ways.

It's going to take more than Romney to get McCain re-elected. Here in Arizona we're just tired of John McCain with his lies, flip flopping, racist, out of touch, and warmongering views. Since McCain's humbling presidential defeat, he became a bitter, frustrated, viciously vindictive, old man. That carries a hatred vendetta, and is only out of revenge against anyone that he feels responsible for his embarrassing lost. John McCain also became too dangerous of warmonger to even be in the senate. Look at his foolish statement that we should pull the nuclear trigger on Iran. (HE'S A MADMAN)! The only issue that John McCain is now honest about is his racist views. For years he has been hiding the fact the he's a racist. He voted against the Martin Luther King Holiday, and voted no to confirm Justice Sotomayor a well qualified Latino woman to the Supreme Court. Now McCain is an out spoken vocal supporter of Arizona's new racist immigration bill. (BUILD THE "DANG" FENCE)
JOHN MCCAIN MUST BE REPLACE!

I believe 2008 was John McCain's final presidential campaign because he is very unlikely to be the GOP nominee again. And he may or may not be reelected as an Arizona Senator. Things have moved on. But McCain has revised some of his policy positions to strengthen his electoral chances.
Both Mitt Romney and McCain know the difference between running in a state election and a national one, and conduct themselves accordingly.

Not only will JD fail to win this election, he is adding to his already terrible reputation every time he opens his mouth. At some point, the man will be so disrespected, finding a job will be a tough enough challenge. JD the guy who spends our money on pet projects in Congress, the guy who lacks any and all intelligence, the guy who is so unethical he lost his past two jobs b.c of it, is just not good enough for Arizona or for our Nation.

Disappointing; as a Romney supporter (Me) it's a political move that doesn't sit well with me; Romney is looking so far ahead that he's making a choice that will PO many of his supporters in the last general election; that said, Romney does stuff like this because he's a politician after all. McCain, aka Yosemite Sam wasn't worth the sacrifice, IMHO.
Remember the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill of 2006.

No problem. McCain doesn't remember what he said that long ago and Romney will say anything. He was for it and against it, AT THE SAME TIME!
