Mark Sanford Reunites with Argentine Mistress Maria Belen Chapur in Florida

Mark Sanford AP

After becoming embroiled in scandal last year as a result of his affair with an Argentinean woman, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford acknowledged today that he reunited with her this past weekend.

Sanford told reporters that he met with Maria Belen Chapur in Florida to see if they could restart their relationship, the Associated Press reports. The Republican governor would not reportedly say whether this was the first time he had seen Chapur since publicly admitting to the relationship.

The governor was compelled last summer to reveal the relationship after he mysteriously disappeared for five days. His office initially said he was hiking the Appalachian Trail, but he was, in fact, visiting his mistress in Argentina.

The revelation prompted calls for Sanford's resignation and led to investigations into Sanford's behavior. His wife Jenny Sanford divorced him.

Sanford, who has reached his term limit, will leave office in January.

Look up the Words

1. Decency

2. Morality

#1 Is Attainable

#2 Is Unattainable in this Body and in this World.

We can all be Decent Human Beings.

Decent: Would Leave Room For Errors and Shortcomings, To be Decent would Mean that you are Neither Extremely Good or Extremely Bad, You're in the Middle. But Claiming that You're Moral & Upright, Leads to Major Troubles, You Leave Yourself, No Rom for Error.

The Very Word Moral, is a Damning Thing Indeed.

None of Us can Be [Moral] Human Beings.

Moral is saying that You are Beyond, Flaws of Mortal Men & Women, that You have Risen Above the Weaknesses that Plauge Us Mere Mortals, You have Spiritual Perfection On Earth, Leaving Yourself No Room for Errors of Any Sort or Any Kind.

There's a Difference Between Decency and Morality, Big Differences.

I've always wondered how appealing the mistress is, after a man's world has crashed around him and he's lost the respect of thousands of people, not to mention losing his family and (in many cases) his livelihood. I suspect the mistress loses the golden shimmer and starts to look rather ordinary. I wonder if it was worth it.

I wish Saturday Night Live would bring back "The Church Lady", Staring Sarah Palin instead of Dana Carvey. We could watch her do the Superiority Dance after she Disciplines Mark Sanford.

Hey, he's divorced now. He can do what he wants. But it would be absolutely wrong to bring his boys into this. Keep those boys of his away from these two homewreckers. The boys should never meet his mistress or have to spend any time with her EVER! She's a homewrecker!

Look Mr. Governor. Stop aplogizing. No one in the media or elsewhere is going to cut you any slack EVER. We are turning into a nation of false apologists. No one believes you. You need to move your lady into the governor's mansion for the rest of your term. Every night, bring her and a couple of wine glasses out on the balcony where the press can watch and flip the bird for all to see as you gulp some wine and grab her somewhere inappropriate One last act of defiance would warm my heart.

Neither Republicans nor Democrats have a monopoly on immorality or stupidity. It's part of the human condition and it's silly to try to politicize it. "Republicans can't keep their pants on" "Liberals are hypocrites"...how silly is that? Sometimes men and women don't keep their pants on. Sometimes people are hypocrites. It's not something in the fine print when you align with a political party.

If anything Republicans are less moral than Democrats. They cover it up by accusing others of the very things they do. This "cover up" process goes into all parts of their lives displaying that they are liars and selfish culprits desperately trying to get their personal wishes accomplished for their own greedy personal reasons. Covering it makes others think that they are doing for others. Any thinking person can see right through it.
