Sarah Palin: Obama's Policies Are "Un-American"

Sarah Palin spoke at a "Tea Party Express" rally on Boston Common today, where she said that the policies being put forth by President Obama and other Democrats had "un-American" consequences.

Palin noted that she was not calling Democrats specifically un-American, but that the results of the their efforts -- which she said entailed "stealing" from "our kids and our grandkids" -- could be characterized that way.

"I'm not calling anyone un-American, but the unintended consequences of these actions, the results, are un-American," she said.

Reading from prepared remarks, Palin said Democrats' policies make Americans "less secure" and "less safe," as well as "more beholden to foreign countries."

She complained that Americans spend 100 days of the year working for the government, telling an enthusiastic crowd, "Government should be working for us -- we should not have to work for the government."

Palin characterized spending as out of control and suggested the current administration had raised taxes, despite the fact that the majority of Americans have gotten a tax cut under Mr. Obama.

"They just don't get it. They think we can borrow and tax more and spend more and get us out of this problem," she said, deeming the administration's policies "insane."

Palin said she did not blame Americans for not knowing what was coming because "we had a complicit media that did not do its job completely" and failed to adequately vet the candidates. She thanked the Tea Party Express group for "putting up with all the B.S. from the lamestream media," among them claims that some Tea Partiers have been racist and violent.

The Tea Party Express, as Politico reported today, is not exactly a grassroots organization: It was the brainchild of a Republican political consultant in Sacramento seeking to "give a boost to our PAC and position us as a growing-force/leading-force as the 2010 elections come into focus."

Palin criticized the health care reform package as "the mother of all unfunded mandates" and attacked the administration's energy policy, again calling on America to "drill, baby, drill."

"You want to see us keep bowing to the Saudis and coddling Chavez?," she asked.

She said most of her friends and family, including her husband Todd, are independents, like many in the movement.

"We have an expectation that every able bodied American will work, and will be rewarded for their work ethic," she said of those gathered for the protest.

Palin said it was a "perfect time to come together in beantown" because it was a day before the deadline for filing taxes, adding "Boston, if anyone knows how to throw a Tea Party, it is you."

She hailed Massachusetts for electing Republican Sen. Scott Brown in January to the seat previously held by Sen. Ted Kennedy, saying the state "shook up the United States Senate." Brown and many Massachusetts Republicans elected to skip the rally. Some expressed concerns about the fringe elements that might be attracted to the event.

Palin does not disclose how much she is paid for speeches. She reportedly earns to $100,000 to give an address, though she does not charge for every event.

On Tuesday, California's attorney general launched an investigation into a state university foundation after students recovered her contract for a speech at the California State University form a trash can. It mandated Palin be flown first class to the speech (or be provided a private plane) and given a suite or two single rooms at a deluxe hotel. It also stated that her compensation for the speech should not be revealed.

Palin's earnings over the last nine months are estimated to be at least $12 million.

Wow. So the lady's made an estimated 12 million dollars since people first found out who she was, when John McCain nominated her as his running mate. This woman is definitely cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame, and she's taking it right from the hands of all the gullible "Tea Partiers". Open your mouth and they give you their money. They even put you up in expensive hotel rooms and give you first class airfare - or private jets. Yes, she's doing a very good job of making herself look like "one of us". She doesn't want to fly on the same plane as us, stay in the same hotel as us, and she wants to take our money. I wonder if her commitment to this "Teaparty" cause is strong enough that she would still travel to a far away destination to make a speech, even if her audience could only afford to bring her there in economy class and put her up in a Motel 6?

No, it's all about the money. Whenever she speaks, don't listen to her words. Read her lips. They always say the same word: MONEY.

Palin has a right to free speech under the Constitution, but it's dishonest and "un-American" to violate that right by using it to spread lies in return for money.

Like saying today that Obamacare is the "Mother of All Unfunded Mandates". CBO confirmed Obamacare IS funded & WILL reduce deficit. BUT GOP '03 Medicare Rx Drug Act WAS actually unfunded & stuck US seniors/ taxpayers with higher & extra costs while benefiting health care corporations with billions. How's that for irony/hypocrisy:

-"largest expansion of Medicare since program was created in 1965.. provides billions of dollars in subsidies to insurance companies & health maintenance organizations." (CNN 12/2003)

-"fiscal train wreck" (NYT 11/2003)

-"(GOP)illegally withheld data from Congress on costs of new Medicare law"(NYT 9/2004)..billed as $400 billion, to-date is $1.2 trillion fed debt, $9 trill Medicare liability & 25% increased Medicare overhead.

-Passed House 220-215, ALL Republicans who voted against funded Obamacare voted for unfunded Bushcare, under unethical circumstances reported on by CBS 60 Minutes!
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/03/29/60minutes/main2625305.shtml Under the Influence

-"Medicare's demand on fed budget is projected to increase rapidly..partly attributable to new Medicare Drug benefit" (Medicare Trustees Report 2006)

-"Medicare Prescription Drug legislation has been a true disappointment to millions of seniors tired of paying more in premiums so insurers can keep their billions in government subsidies. While everyone in Washington talks about fiscal discipline, President Bush shows the influence of the insurance lobby once again ruled the day." (Pres/CEO Nat Cttee for Prseservation of Soc Security & Medicare 12/2007)

Since when is the wife of a separationist, advocating the secession of Alaska from the United States of America, an authority on what is American or not?
The fact is that Sarah Palin has, by her actions during her comical, unsuccessful, VP attempt, by her deviciveness, by her calling for a revolution, proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, that she is not only un-American, but also Anti-American, by wanting to destroy the Union created by our fore-fathers.
I wish Fox "news" would hurry-up and hire her so that she would have something else to do than to spray her venom on the American public.

Dear Sirs,
I noted that Sarah Palin bypassed the primary process, in New York, to endorse a third party candidate.
Abraham Lincoln believed in government by the people.
He bolted from the Republican party to form the Union party.
Was he right to do so?
Are the grassroots entitled to have there primaries or not.
Is the Texas Two-Step the way America should be run?

There never was a surplus in 2000. How could you have a surplus when SSI was owed billions. Watch the deficit jump now that SSI is cashing in those IOU's.
..........................

At least there was a surplus with SSI. That was gone with Bush and
bush and the Republicans hid the cost of the Iraq war so that was not even counted.

Middle class, how did 2001/2003 Bush $3 trillion tax cut tax cut work out for you? I the 8 Bush years the American middle class have been decimated. The wealthy did very well under Bush.

What strikes me the most is that Sarah believes she can determine what is "un American" and what is "American". She is a pimple on FOX News' rear end to think that she, of all people, can talk about what is American. AND like most pimples she will burst once the Tea Partiers realize that she's "in it" for the money. Like Beck said he could give a flying crap about the political process....... we're all about entertainment.
Here's to Sarah with her Lear jets and "bendable" straws. She is for the "common folk", reasonable Americans until it impinges on her bank account......... If her primary goal was to stand up for the "common good" she would have stuck it out in Alaska - she's about herself and how much money she can make. Not unlike most conservatives who talk a good game, and deliver nothing for the common good. The "me first" mentality is old and getting more expensive for most middle class, middle of the road, hard working Americans...............
