Landra Reid, the wife of Senate majority leader Harry Reid, remains in "serious condition" at a Washington-area hospital following the car accident that broke her neck, back and nose, Reid's office said today. His daughter Lana, who was also injured in the crash, was released from the hospital last night.

"Sen. Reid and Landra's family is coming to be by her side. Sen. Reid was at the hospital until almost midnight last night," according to Reid's office. "He stayed there until the doctors told him he needed to leave so his wife could rest. He returned first thing this morning to be with her and is still there."

I'll bet he's glad his family is insured. Unlike many Americans, Harry Reid and his family have access to quality medical care. We need to fix the American health care system so that everyone can see a doctor when they need to.

I have joined to reply to this comment. Guntotingredneck is inaptly named because he gives all gun-toting rednecks, many of whom are fine people, a bad name. To put up a post of this nature related to a story of this nature demonstrates that he is unfit to be considered a member of the human race. The only concern at this time should be for the well-being of Mrs. Reid and the Reid family. Just as, for example, when right-wing columnist Robert Novak was diagnosed with brain cancer, one of the first calls he received was from Senator Edward Kennedy. Novak later wrote movingly that he had no reason to expect Kennedy to be nice to him, given what he had written about him over the years. But Kennedy put his politics aside to reach out to someone whose suffering he understood.

My political persuasion is different than guntotingredneck's. For example, I support health care reform because I believe we have a duty to help and care for one another, and that is what the United States is supposed to be about. I also believe that is what Christian values are supposed to be about. Therefore, I suppose that guntotingredneck will go to church on Sunday and pray after a week full of hatred and pride that the Ten Commandments warn against and that The Bible does not teach. It makes one wonder how anyone could call himself or herself a Christian and stand for the "values" that this scum claims to have.

Bad Karma Harry.

You try and foster a broken government run health care system on us and now you get to find out how good our health care system is.

Medicare has a $40 trillion deficit over the next 20 years and we are supposed to be happy about the way the government runs things. Doctors are dropping Medicare patients like 50 Cent is dropping lyrics and this is what you want for us.

I thought it was ironic that PA Dem Cong Murtha did not use his congressional Cadillac plan and went to the government run VA where they made a mistake and it killed him. HA Another horses ass went to join their leader Kennedey.

Stick it Harry.

Bad Karma?

Bad Karma is what will happen to all of you American religious fundamentalists, racist bigots and clueless rednecks who get all excited thinking about using your guns to fight a scary mean government and do it in the name of God. Go join the Glen Beck militia to feel like a "man".

Meanwhile, the rest of us will pray for senator Reid's wife and hope that he will pass into law a bill that will (1) reduce the deficit but more importantly and in line with our Christian values (2) insure 30 million people who are currently uninsured.

Thank God there are enough of us compassionate Christians who are pro-lifers when it comes to potecting the living, 30 million people already walking on this earth, who can get sick and die any day without health coverage. Karma is with us, even when accidents and sickness occurr. And you will soon know that Karma is with us.
