Tea Party Movement Plans "Strike" for Jan. 20
5133203As the one-year anniversary of President Obama's inauguration nears, the Tea Party movement is planning a "strike" against corporations they call responsible for "funding socialism" and "backing the leftist agenda" of the new president.
Liberal politicians benefit from "large donors, labor union thugs, Hollywood elites and major media propagating our destruction," contends strike organizer Allen Hardage at the Tea Party Patriots web site.
In the wake of the economic downfall and the financial and auto bailouts of the past year, the tea party movement sprang up to represent conservative voters who felt disenfranchised. The election of a Democratic president intent on promoting new government spending on things like health care has spurred on the movement, prompting protests against big government and its ties to big business.
Hardage writes that on Jan. 20 "the TEA Party movement moves into the next phase, TEA 2.0, of taking our country back... We will demonstrate our power and reach to those companies who employ individuals backing the leftist agenda in every major city, every congressional district and every small rural town in America to spread one unified message. That message is simple: Stop funding socialism."
Hardage told Talking Points Memo that he will not release the companies which the strike will target until Jan. 20. but that it will focus on businesses "that are the largest supporters of the most liberal members of Congress as well as those that support extreme liberal media outlets."
The strike has gained some interest online, where more than 4,000 people have shown their support for the event on Facebook and other sites. If the strike proves ineffective, according to Hardage, the tea partiers will hold a march on Feb. 27, as well as a national boycott "of all of the companies that do not stop donating to people like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chris Dodd et al."
Republicans tried to capture the energy of the tea partiers. GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann said in a radio interview on Dec. 29 that if the Republican party wants to succeed in the 2010 midterm elections, it needs to "embrace the tea party movement with full arms."
But Suzy Khimm of Newsweek points out that the movement "has yet to pay off for the Republican Party in terms of small-scale donations─the kind of grassroots support that proved critical to bringing Obama and congressional Democrats to power last year."
Up-and-coming conservative politicians like Marco Rubio in Florida, however, could try to bring tea partiers into the Republican fold as he battles Gov. Charlie Crist in a GOP Senate primary this year. If the tea partiers succeed in electing politicians like Rubio, New York Times columnist David Brooks writes, "their movement is likely to outgrow its crude beginnings and become a major force in American politics."

You are the idiot thinking Global Warming is a myth.

Speaking of myths, here's a little something from the Canadian Free Press (and myth #1 comes to mind):
Obama: The only promise he made that he is fulfilling is the transformation of the U.S. into a failed socialist economy
2010?s Top Ten Myths
By Alan Caruba Thursday, December 31, 2009
In no particular order, here are ten myths that will affect U.S. domestic and international policy in the year ahead.
1. Myth: Global warming is real. It was never real except for the natural warming cycle that occurred from 1850 to 1998 when the Earth began another natural cycle, when it began to cool. The new cycle will last for several decades.
2. Myth: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a danger to humans. This is the most pernicious lie that has been put forth by environmentalists and is the basis for the global warming lie. CO2 is vital to all life on Earth as it represents for all vegetation what oxygen is for all animals. This myth is the rationalization for Cap-and-Trade legislation.
3. Myth: The world is running out of oil. Not even close. New reserves of oil are being found on a regular basis. There is no substitute for oil as the basis for transportation and the many other products such as plastic for which it is the basic component. Failure to access national reserves of oil such as that in ANWR or offshore in the U.S. continental shelf is criminally stupid.
4. Myth: Afghanistan is critical to the war on terror. No, sorry, all the real action is in Pakistan these days and, in the days to come, in Yemen. Few NATO members want to provide forces for action there for lack of confidence in its present government and other factors.
5. Myth: The future is in ?clean energy? as opposed to ?dirty? coal. Wrong again. If wind or solar energy could demonstrate any practical use beyond very small projects it would attract investment, but it does not. Dependent on unreliable factors and requiring a backup source of energy such as a coal-fired or nuclear plant, large scale applications are a huge waste of money.
6. Myth: The U.S. must become ?energy independent.? No nation on Earth is energy independent. The U.S. has failed to encourage the building of a single new refinery since the 1970s and is failing to encourage the building of nuclear plants to meet the nation?s growing need for more electricity.
7. Myth: The government can create or ?save? jobs. Wrong again. The only jobs government creates are government jobs. These are essentially managerial and often exist to justify the continued existence of government agencies that actually impede job growth or significantly interfere with the free market.
8. Myth: The financial crisis is not a significant threat. An economy whose annual gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to be $14 trillion cannot long survive a debt ceiling of $12.4 trillion as approved by Congress on December 24. That requires too much borrowing. Only less spending can ensure stability.
9. Myth: The United Nations is necessary for resolving international disputes. Historically the UN has repeatedly failed to stop conflicts since its inception after WWII. It has a long record of corruption and inaction.
10. Myth: President Obama tells the truth. Barack Obama?s first year in office demonstrated to his supporters, independents, and critics that he lies all the time about everything. The only promise he made that he is fulfilling is the transformation of the U.S. into a failed socialist economy.
Democratic strategist James Carville states it openly in the title of his book. "40 More Years: How the Democrats Will RULE the Next Generation" Like you I want to be REPRESENTED-NOT RULED.
Reading the Liberal's comments on many blogs it seems they are incapable of thinking independently and want to be RULED and let someone else take care of them. It's never worked and never will work.
I find it shameless that our representatives have chosen not to represent the majority of the American people on this and other bills being considered. We did not sign up to be ruled, we signed up to be represented and THEY ARE NOT LISTENING!
I truly hope those who do not listen find themselves without their current jobs soon. However, they will continue to receive their high priced medical benefits courtesy of those they snickered at while they decided to shove it to us.

The current projected deficit remains almost entirely a result of Bush/Repub policies from 2000-2006. When these people gained power in 2000, they had a large projected surplus, but they spent and spent on money we did not have and created the huge deficit they now whine about.
It is truly pathetic, the tea baggers have nothing historical to stand on. The last five republican presidents were deficit spenders (evfen both of reagans) while the the last three dem presidents prior to Obama had a balanced budget for their terms.
We are supposed to buy they give a dang about spending and the deficit. Just silly. These people are a joke. they make noise, but they have zero credibility
