Muammar Qaddafi: Everything is a target now

Embattled Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi released a statement Saturday, warning that international air and missile strikes inside his country have turned North Africa and the Mediterranean Sea into a "real war zone."

Qaddafi said: "The interests of the involved countries will be subjected to threats as of now in the Mediterranean Sea because of this aggressive, foolish act that's completely unjustifiable, other than it is a mere crusader colonial aggression that aims to launch a second wide ranging crusader campaign."

In the statement, Qaddafi did not blame al Qaeda, as he has frequently to date, on the uprising, but instead called on other nations and people to stand by Libya in order to fight off "colonial aggression."

Qaddafi said that the aggressive actions in Libya are "only making this people stronger, tougher, more united within an internal and united national front. Right now, weapons depots are being opened in order to arm the people with all sorts of weapons, in order to enable them to defend Libya's independence its unity and its Honor."

This nuclear disaster is a tragedy that is still difficult for some to understand.

We need to mobilize all available resources as soon as possible.

We must take proactive steps, preposition equipment, boron. We need C-130s in Japan, firefighter planes, detection equipment...

The plutonium that is currently detectable in the US will last for many generations. The contamination is still arriving, plumes from the big explosions have not yet hit, and the plants are not secure.

Americans we are getting directly hit by what is vastly worse than the dirty bombs we heard so much about. And, this could get much worse.

At this time, for most regular Americans and for future generations - Libya is a sideshow,...; Reply to this comment

For what purpose is his current effort to stay in power--to impress his sons and his mistresses in and outside Libya? Gaddafi has threaten to bomb planes and assassinate people. Well Dick Cheney had an assassination squad he used as we saw at lease two victims but there were many more. Dr. Kelly of the UK and Pat Tillman were victims of Cheney squad. Gaddafi will never be brought to charges by the UN. Gaddafi will use the Bush Administration as his defense. Bush/Cheney openly committed War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity and no charges were filed. Obama knows the World leaders no longer trust the word of the United States after 8 years of lies. It will take a long time for the US to be trusted again.
