Swedish authorities have made a new request to U.K. police to extradite for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange for sex crime allegations, the BBC is reporting.

According to the BBC, Swedish prosecutors drew up a second European arrest warrant, after the first was rejected on legal grounds.

The U.K.'s Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), which processes European Arrest Warrants, did not confirm to the BBC whether the request had been received.

Assange, who has helped release thousands of secret files, is wanted in Sweden for questioning on sex crimes although no charges have been filed. Two women claim that Assange sexually attacked them when he visited the country in August.

CBSNews.com Special Report: WikiLeaks

Assange is believed to be staying at a secret address in the U.K. He denies the allegations against him, calling them part of a smear campaign.

His British lawyer Mark Stephens told the BBC's Today program that the police knew where Assange was living if they needed to get in touch with him. Stephens told the BBC that Assange had sought a meeting with the Swedish prosecutor to discuss the charges but hadn't gotten a response.

Earlier this week, WikiLeaks released 250,000 secret diplomatic cables, embarrassing governments across the globe.

Have they filed charges? When was the last time someone made the top of the Interpol Most wanted list overnight for allegations from 2 women of alleged sex crimes?

Ironic that those charges suddenly came to light after Assange indicated that there would be an upcoming release of information.

Assange is using the leaks of these documents to cover-up his criminality and now he's whining about how unfair it is and a smear against his character. Rather ironic.

No..you obviously are not educated in whats happening. He is leaking confidentialinformation that is TRUE. His sexual criminal allegations are just that....ALLIGATIONS. He has also requested to meet with the Swedish police to discuss these alligations but they have not responded. So there is a difference here so nothing is "ironic"....idiot.

It isn't WikiLeaks' responsibility to divulge government secret documents they weren't authorized or cleared to have access to. People calling for the truth to be revealed all the time, regardless of the circumstances and/or consequences are very immature and socialist-leaning.

Our President promised us many things, including a different way, yet he walks in George Bush's shoes leading our troops as Bush did. We all want the terroist in chains but not in the evil way Bush led us. Bush and Obama's strategies and tactics are foolish and self defeating. Hunting single terrorist with armies is like hunting deer's with tanks.

The recent report on WikiLeaks is the truth of the matter. Aren't we a country of truth? We've been led to the darkness, not by the terrorist but by a recovering addict. We must change our hunt of terrorist to a wise one. Hunt them as individuals. They are of no army but of singltery people amongst us all. Yet the fools go after them with armies and tanks.

Julian Assange is a brave man standing up against a darkness this is in hiding. He face's the likelyhood of assasination, imprisonment or even the threat of torture in the dark. Why? For what? For the truth to be known? For the sake of the press? The internet is our press now. Our Bill of Rights guarantees this the freedom of press. Julian Assange is only reporting new's given to him from a source. If he is denied to publish the truth is there any truth?

George Bush led us as a recovering addict would in a demented weak minded way and the truth is he shamed our flag with his darkness. We all want the terrorist in chains but not in the evil demented way he chose.

WikiLeaks is only reporting the truth of factual evidence of his war crimes along with the lowliness of the one's who supposedly represent our flag. The truth as reported is evidence that needs to be known. These two unnecessary DigiNet Age Vietnam's are costing the lives of ten's and ten's of thousands. Our soldier's are dying killing innocent citizens of Iraq and Afghanastan.

It was reported last week on this site, that the a survey of the Taliban fighters discovered that 90% of the Taliban didn't even no 911 ever happened. Yet Bush idiotically schock and awes them, ransacks everyhome, and even arrest and tortures their children. We we're led by a recovering addict into these war's by his demented lies. That is why the Julian Assange is printing evidence against a evil darkness.

The terrorist live in the darkness, and the recovering addict led us into that darkness. We must turn direction around. Ladin led Bush around like a school master leading a little boy by the ear. We must face the truth no matter how dark it is.

Mr. Assange is a hero, equal to the China man standing fearlessly in front of the oncoming communist tanks in protest of torture the evilness of his communist leader's. Now Mr. Assange is accused of crimes for reporting the truth, standing up against the evilness of men like Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and even Ben Ladin and his thugs?

These two DigiNet Age Vietnam's need to end and maybe the truth will lead to their end and the to a just hunt of the Terrorist. Thank you WikiLeaks. Your reporting might help end these two self defeating war's. The truth might save little babies from death of unnecessary bombs, bullets and poisen dropped on them. Not from Hitler, nor from Stalin but from America.

I'm ashamed of what Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and our Generals have foolishly and un-patrioticly have done, in a way almost as cowerd's. They made the enemy strong and made all of us cower to the people with no shoes. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights torn and walked on. Our freedoms taken, and a new police state in cowerdnice to the people with no shoes.

We're American's. We don't invade. We don't torture. We feed, we cure, we defend, we protect the poor, the people with no shoes, and the hungery and the lost. The truth Mr. Assange has reported is not against our country but for our country.

Julian Assange should be nominated for the Nobel Peace prize. He's standing up for the truth to end these worth's and to protect the innocent. His bravery is more American than the evil one's who led us into unnecessary war's that blew up into our country torturing and other evil act's our flag has never flow for.

Thank you Mr. Assange. "The truth will set you free", Martin Luther King, 1963.

Mind you, NO CHARGES HAVE BEEN FILED...is clearly in the article.
AND...wanted for questioning? Big clue. They do not have enough evidence and so want him to self-incriminate...like in the US when Police want a suspect to avoid his Fifth Amendment Right against Self Incrimination....they avoid talking about what they really want...and basically lead a suspect to the point of getting him to talk without representation...and make all kinds of statements to him until the suspect just lets whatever is wanted...out, without realizing he did not have to speak at all.

There would be no war if not for your Islamic radical brothers. If not for people like you the world would be peaceful place. I know it's probably impossible for a jihadist but try getting a little perspective, your brainwashing induced hate speach indicates only the level success your Imam has gained with you.

Nottblu, You make astounding assumptions. I am not Islamic. I am Native American. You know, one of those people who were here when diseased invaders got off the prison boats from England.

I am not a jihadist. I was a County Chairman for The Republican Party when Ronald Reagan was elected.

Rajah is not an Islamic name. It is Hindi and the name of a beloved cat. Since we are required to have a screen name, I thought Rajah would be as good as any.

88 is symbolic of the Chinese character for Double Happiness. The Chinese character looks vaguely similar to 88 and has come to be used as such when it is impossible to write the character.

Try to make something vile from the above. I am certain you are up to it. Your determination to see the world as evil and ugly will go far in making the world evil and ugly.

Glad someone mentioned Vince Foster. Yes, he had better be very careful from now on.
