- ok someone please tell me i am wrong, look it up and make sure i am wrong. i don't remember offhand, but isn't i still illegal by law of war to take up arms in civilian clothes, and isn't it still punishable by death? I do know why a certian part of the navy was created in the early part of world war 2 because civilian contractors were getting attacked by the japanesse, and if they had picked up weapons the would be tried and killed, as spies, because they were not legal uniformed military. what is the differrence with these people?
