McCain Kicks Off Ohio Bus Tour

(CBS)
(MAUMEE, OHIO) – John McCain kicks off a two-day bus tour of Ohio this morning, trying to catch back up in a state where Barack Obama has opened up roughly a five-point lead.
McCain will be travelling across the northern border of Ohio, hugging Lake Erie as he moves from Defiance in the northwest corner to Mentor in the northeast.
Several of the towns and counties McCain will be campaigning in have been Republican strongholds in the past, and McCain hopes to turn out his vote in these areas to counteract the gains the Obama campaign has made elsewhere in the state.
Early voting here is trending towards the Democratic side, which could be especially bad news for McCain, since no Republican has ever been elected president without winning Ohio.
