Obama: "Not an Inch of Daylight Between" McCain and Bush

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(RENO, NEV.) - Barack Obama mocked and derided John McCain today for trying to distance himself from George Bush and for linking him to the administration. Calling it one of the strangest twists of the campaign, Obama said McCain's argument that he will continue Bush's economic policies is senseless.

"Let's be clear: John McCain attacking George Bush for his out-of-hand economic policy is like Dick Cheney attacking George Bush for his go-it-alone foreign policy," Obama said.

"What Joe Biden says – it's like Tonto getting mad at the Lone Ranger. John McCain's been with George Bush every step of the way!"

Obama reminded the thousands at the University of Nevada rally that George Bush voted for McCain through an absentee ballot yesterday. "That's no surprise because when it comes to the policies that matter for middle class families, there's not an inch of daylight between George Bush and John McCain," Obama said.

Not only did Obama link McCain to Bush's economic policies, he argued that he would promote his health care and social security plans as well. This was one of Obama's most aggressive attempts to link up McCain and Bush.

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds quickly responded to Obama's charges by linking him to Bush. "For a candidate who only months ago said he voted with President Bush 'for the most part,' Barack Obama certainly likes to vilify him now," Bounds said in a statement.

Bounds is referring to a television interview last June, when Obama said that he voted for a number of bills that were introduced by the Republicans.

But THIS... is interesting and set to go VIRAL

"Bidding For Palin Pipeline Contract Flawed"

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/25/politics/main4545574.shtml
this story is just the tip of the iceberg with this pipeline fiasco. more....

there is no guarantee that any of the gas will make it to the lower 48 (but BILLIONS in federal loan guarantees for Alaska)

the line ends in the Alberta tar sands (oil shale drilling - environmentally devastating but now VERY lucrative for the oil companies

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/9/8/12517/55971

There is a non-competition clause in the contract that states that if Alaska "faciliates" a contract with a competitive firm - the state owes TransCanada
what they would have expected to get in on-going revenues based on the expected volume to flow through the pipeline. Since the state has been unable or unwilling to estimate the volume this is an OPEN ENDED non-competition clause.

ALL VERIFIABLE FACTS and not instigated by nutjobs like the birth certificate deadend perpetrated by nutjobs like Jerome Corsi and Andy Martin.

Why should OB start telling the truth now?? You don''t think the Eastern Elite Media is going to do anything to discourage his election, do you?
Let''s see. 1. CNN today reports that Obama''s claim about companies who outsource receive tax breaks is false.
2. He is going to lower taxes. Barney (The Guy Who Broke America thru Social Engineering) said yesterday everyone''s taxes would have to be raised. Ummm..who is minding the store? Folks, taxes will NOT be lowered. There will be NO healthcare reform. None. I conclude that OB is the typical politician..tell the folks what they want to hear and then backtrack immediately. Him and Slick Willy together. Willy can tell him how he pulled the same stunt in 1992 and then raised our taxes in 1993.
You don''t have to be smart to be a politician. Simply have a bunch of dumb voters who are hung up emotionally.
There are 3 main reasons this election as to how folks vote:
1. I will vote for OB. He is black.
2. I will not vote for OB. He is black.
3. I am mad at Bush.
Well, I am not all pleased with Bush either. However, the past is over. I am not willing to vote for a socialist just because I''m mad. Yep, the 3 reasons above are real logical.
Point is this. Smooth talk from a very convincing man got the Germans in trouble in the 1920''s. Slick politicians can lead us around by the nose once they have us emotionally. Be your own person. Do not be herded like a bunch of cattle into a pen just so they can get your vote quickly. Think about it.

Sen. Obama do not have to produce a birth certificate to prove his birth, it is a government document anyone can find out where he was born. This a dumb *** rumor. If you do not think that when he was in the primary and during this general election that opposition research was not done on Sen. Obama you are ignorant. Hillary brought out Rev. Wright tapes so what makes you think that the Media and his opponent will not be able to get his Birth Certificate. Get a life and find something legitimate to talk about. You have every right to complain about his policies but his birth is just plain dumb. So what if he was born in Kenya he can not be a Senator unless he is a US citizen.

RADIO3142,

fact:
Obama has repeatedly been asked to produce a valid Birth Certificate - Not a "copy" of a birth registration. He has not.

fact:
Hospital in which he claims to be born has ZERO record of him or his mother.

fact:
all of this would go away if B.O. would simply show his original Birth "Certificate".

Question:
Why won''t he do it?

Answer:
you tell me!!!

Gorilla I invite you to go to snopes and do some reading. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp

With eleven days to go it''s amazing the lengths Republicans will go to spread vicious false information! Obama/Biden are winning this race because they are bringing people together with hope, not hate.
