Obama Preps For Anniversary Celebration

(PHILADELPHIA, PA.) - What does a presidential candidate buy his wife for their anniversary?

Flowers, of course.

Barack Obama made a quick stop at a local flower shop in suburban Philly today, to purchase a dozen white roses for his wife, Michelle. The pair is celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary today.

Obama is heading back to Chicago tonight to have dinner with Michelle at an upscale downtown restaurant before heading back to the campaign trail tomorrow.

During his flower shop stop, Obama was asked for reaction to the House vote on the rescue package.

"I'm glad to see we finally got this dealt with," he replied.

Obama admitted to speaking to freshman Democrats who voted "no" to the original package, and encouraging them to vote "yes" the second time around.

He said they needed assurance that the $700 billion plan was designed to ensure that the credit markets would not collapse, adding "They also I think wanted to hear from me, as potentially the next president who's going to be implementing some of these policies after January 20th."

Several House Democrats have since said that Obama helped change their mind on the plan.

A lot of folks went to the Obama website and donated $16 to the campaign as a recognition and congratulations to the Obama''s 16th wedding anniversary - it''s not too late, they would be very grateful!

Ever see Cindy & John? They hardly seem like a married couple at all.

Yet you watch Barack & Michelle or Jill & Joe Biden and there is unity...which is what they stand for....which ironically is what the voices of this country yearn for.

And this is why Obama & Biden will be in the White House.

Peroque, You don''t seem to be able to tell the difference between a senile and calculating old political dinosaur pulling a political stunt (that back fired) And a man just trying to spend some time with his wife on their anniversary. YOU are the jerk! Geez give the guy a break.

Okay, let me think here, this "JERK" can "suspend" his campaign because it is his anniversary with Michele...Hmmm! He certainly was not willing to "suspend" his campaign to help the common person but instead let them pass through this Idiotic $700 billion bailout so he could raise our taxes sky high if he is elected!?!?! And to think I was going to vote for him before this, Now, I DO NOT THINK SO OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!

We''re very lucky in the role models that both the Obamas and the Bidens give the country. It''s been too long since we''ve had tenderness, loyalty, fidelity and such obvious caring displayed for American families. I find it very inspiring. It makes you want to try even harder to build a good and strong family. That is such a source of strength for our children and for our country.

I''d also like to congratulate Sen.Obama and Michelle on their 16th anniversary,their decency as role models and their inspiration to the average citizens of this nation that there are some trustworthy politicians in America. God Bless!

I am so proud to see the Senator is such a gentleman. It''s nice to see that he still romances his wife. the close relationship that he has with his family is very nice to observe. Thanks Senator.
