McCain Says Taxpayers Should Not Bail Out Wall Street, Criticizes Obama for "Nasty" Campaign

(JACKSONVILLE, FLA.) – Promising to "never put America in this position again" with regards to the turmoil on Wall Street, John McCain said he would bring transparency and accountability to America's financial markets.

"We believe the time has come and gone where the taxpayers should be viewed as the solution to the problems that are not of their making," McCain said. "We will reform the regulatory bodies of government."

Speaking to a noticeably smaller crowd here at his first rally without running mate Sarah Palin, McCain told the 3,000 in attendance at the half full arena that the economy was not in jeopardy.

"The fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are very, very difficult times," he said.

McCain also addressed what he perceives as a negative tone from his Democratic opponent.

"Sen. Obama's been saying some pretty nasty things about Gov. Palin and me," McCain said. "That's okay. That's okay. He can attack if he wants, but all the insults in the world aren't going to bring change to Washington."

The McCain campaign has leveled some harsh critiques itself. Last week, McCain's camp released ads that accused Obama of supporting sex education for kindergartners, alleging sexism over the "lipstick on a pig" comment, and that Obama did not support the troops in Iraq.

senator McCain now is saying on the View and in the Summit on service on 9/11 that the reason this campaign is so negative is because Senator Obama would not go to town halls with with him as he proposed and if he had things would be much different now ... hmmmmmm.... this sounds a lot like things I heard when I was a nurse in the ED and we were talking to the husband of a woman who had a couple of black eyes among other injuries ... he said this would not have happened if she would just do a better job cleaning. same old song Blame The Victim! Well is not gonna work this time. we know who really will change things--and his name is Senator Obama.

McCain''s identity crises at work again. McCain and Palin are ignorant nasty liars, plain and simple. They will do the same to the American people as they are now doing to Obama.

The Republicans (John McCain and George Bush) wanted to privatize our Social Security System by having our accounts tied directly to the stock market, where private brokers would be in control of yours and mines retirement portfolio.

The Bush Administration claimed that each American under his plan could (and, that is %u201Ccould%u201D) reap a greater return if we were to allow them to invest our Social Security instead of the guaranteed system we%u2019re currently on.

A move like this proves that you can%u2019t trust Republican Economics because after it%u2019s all said and done they will point to you as the one that took the risk. Meanwhile, they would make the money on trading regardless.

Did everyone miss the admission McCain made in the first sentence of this story in promising....''never to put America in this position AGAIN''. How truly stupid does he think people are. If the Repubs had their way, we would no longer have Social Security in lieu of private investment accounts such as Merril Lynch and Lehman Brothers. The only truth that has come out of McCain''s mouth is his acknowledgment that he knows little or nothing about the economy. Guess he''s now following Palin''s playbook on the matter. Wonder if she''s won over his support for that pipeline yet. If not I guess he''ll soon be getting a few calls and emails from her husband.

Oh yeah, the fundementals of our economy are sound. You say this as I watch all the gains of my IRAs slip away almost overnight! Oh yeah, I''m gonna vote for 4 more years of this. And just how long do you think its going to take for reform Wall Street?? You''ll never live to see it!

What a crock! McCain is criticizing Obama for a nasty campaign? This is classic Rove; do the dirty and then turn around and make a big media splash by attacking your opponent for doing what you did. Have we had enough of Bush/Cheney/Rove/McCain/Palin yet? How far down are we willing to let the country sink before we react? McCain is offering nothing at all that will heal this economy, or bring jobs, or bring healthcare or any other major thing that will make life better for 90% of the American people. In the past two years the president has vetoed everything that the senate republicans didn''t filibuster. And in the six years before that when the republicans held the White House, the Senate and the House, they passed the stuff that''s destroying the country now. Throw them out of offices wholesale. There''s a lot of fix-it work to do and we can''t afford to waste time on political games. The nation is in crisis. Vote to save it.

With about 6 weeks left and a dead heat, it''s evident that crackpot fundamentalist Christians are again exerting sufficient influence to control the election. Not a matter of liberal vs conservative; simply a matter of superstition vs rational behavior. And as we all know, superstition generally wins.

The way Palin pronounces the word NUCLEAR, is the same way Shrub pronounces it - NUCLAR! For starters, I can''t take another 4 yaers of that gross mispronunciation.

If we don''t put a stop to these dismal bank failures [which will not happen if McPalin is elected], change our policies on shipping jobs overseas, stop supporsting this Iraq war at the tune of 10B monthly, start fixing our environment. find new means for energy, etc., we will not only see the cost of living skyrocket even more while our salaries remain stagnate, but we may wake up to find ourselves occupied by the Chinese for failure to pay our debts as they take over our country for collateral. As long as our electorate continues to believe the lies spewed by McPalin and if they vote for McBush, our country will continue on its quick track decline into third world status.
