Palin To Address Financial Crisis At Colorado Rally

(GOLDEN, COLO.) - Amid a slew of ominous news out of Wall Street Monday morning, Sarah Palin will address the financial crisis at the top of her remarks at a rally in Golden, Colorado scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

The manner in which Palin addresses the news that Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch appear headed to annihilation will be closely watched. Thus far on the campaign trail, Palin has offered very few specifics on how she would fix the ailing economy.

Asked by ABC News' Charlie Gibson about what a McCain/Palin administration would do differently on the economy than the Bush White House, Palin said, "We need to put government back on the side of the people, and make sure that it is not government solely looked at for all the solutions, for one."

Palin went on to say that "government has got to get out of the way" to allow the private sector to create jobs and that she would "recognize that it's not government to be looked at to solve all the problems."

When Gibson pressed Palin again to name her three economic priorities, she listed tax reductions, spending controls and the reform of oversight on agencies and committees.

I never cease to be amazed at what confidence liberals have in the government, while condemning all private enterprises.
I am not against all government, it has it''s place, and it is vital to our country. However, I do not share the liberal''s conficende that anyone who works for the govenment is automatically endowed with character, trustworthiness and honesty, and is incapable of doing wrong, or abusing their power.
History does not give us confidence that the government always has the citizen''s best interest at heart.
I''m not claiming that private individuals have these good traits either. It''s just that private entities have much less power than governament entities. They cannot legally put a gun to your head, as the government can, and they must live within their budget or go out of business.; Reply to this comment

Wall St. is too far for a direct line of sight so we have to conclude that like most other subjects this poorly educated hockey mom knows more abut shooting moose or wolves from airplanes than about economics. Maybe she plans to learn her Bush economics from McCain. I guess she thinks we are all stupid.; Reply to this comment

So what is it that%u2019s she%u2019s saying?
The Republicans have been in control and have done everything they%u2019ve wanted as for as allowing privatization to earn big profits while yours and mine%u2019s lifestyle has decreased.

If Americans wish to take back control they need to vote the Republicans out of office, or risk further economic detrimental policy against the Working Middle Class.; Reply to this comment
