The Real Sarah Palin Laughs Along With Tina Fey's Impression

The true extent to which Palin-mania has come to dominate the TV news cycle hit home for me last night as I flipped through the channels on the Palin campaign's charter flight from Reno to Denver. Within a period of about a half hour, I caught the much-anticipated debut of Tina Fey as Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night," as well as seperate Palin documentaries on MSNBC and CNN.

Tina Fey was such a dead ringer for Palin that I was tempted to open the curtains that separate the governor and her staff from the media to make sure she was still on the plane and hadn't managed to sneak off to Manhattan to appear live on the show.

One of the more biting pieces of satire came at the beginning of the sketch when Amy Poehler's rendition of Hillary Clinton standing beside Palin said, "I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy."

"And I can see Russia from my house," Fey as Palin replied.

According to her spokesperson Tracey Schmitt, the real Sarah Palin had a good laugh along with the press corps in the back of the plane and millions of Americans at home.

"She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween," Schmitt said.

Chase obviously isn''t bright enough to know he misused the word as he also isn''t bright enough to offer insightful or intelligent (or even funny) comments on politics. by radioirish September 17, 2008 2:26 PM EDT: The actual, which is to say original (and, in my mind, proper!) definition of "decimate" is to destroy one-tenth of something...thus the root "deci". The use of "decimate" as a synonym for "annihilate" is as proper as "ain''t" in my book.
Somebody better tell Chevy!!!

Don''t these people realize every time they say something stupid like this it just tarnishes their reputation causing a loss in popularity? Personally, I really don''t care what celebrities think. Most are notoriously ignorant about political issues anyway backing whatever is the popular trend in Hollywood. Please, for all you celebrities, go pretend to be real people in movies or do you humor thing, just leave politics to the politician. Granted a lot of our elected officials are just as much in a fantasy land as Hollywood celebrities but at least they have some credibility in what they do. The more celebrities that use their "celebrity status" to push some political agenda just alienates them more from the movie going middle class. So, do all you celebrities have the right to express your opinion? Sure you do, but do it around your peers. Those of us out here in Middle America are just trying to scratch out a living and make ends meet. When the President raises our taxes, it hurts the middle class, not the wealth: More taxes are just an inconvience to you. For most of the working people, it%u2019s giving up something to survive another day. One of those things for me will be movie tickets and maybe cable TV. If we don%u2019t watch you Chevy, you don%u2019t get paid so maybe it''s best to keep your opinions to yourself or within your circle of rich friends.; Reply to this comment

Well honestly, I have seen some of your movies, well when I say some, I mean that I haven''t watched them from begining to end, and my reason is always the same: how in the world did this guy ever get a role in any movie??
