Obama Changes Strategy With Direct Hits on Palin

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

(FLINT, MICH.) - It looks like the Barack Obama campaign has come up with a strategy on Sarah Palin – to attack her head on.

Obama seemed to be taken by surprise by Palin's scorching remarks at the Republican Convention and was initially reluctant to go after her directly. He tiptoed around her last week, only briefly mentioning her name at events.

But today, something changed – Obama went after Palin with full force, linking both her and John McCain to the Bush administration and mocking them for claiming to be the new agents of change.

"John McCain and his running mate Sarah Palin at the convention asserted that they were the agents of change," Obama said. "They admitted that George Bush hasn't I guess been all that great because they sure didn't show him much or mention him much during the convention and now they're trying to repackage themselves."

Obama blasted Palin on the "bridge to nowhere," accusing her of changing positions for political reasons.

"She was for it until everybody started raising a fuss about it and she started running for governor and then suddenly she was against it. You remember that?," Obama asked, "For it before you were against it? I mean you can't just make stuff up. You can't just recreate yourself. You can't just reinvent yourself. The American people aren't stupid."

He even suggested that Palin and McCain may not be on the same page on earmarks.

"When she was mayor, she hired a Washington lobbyist to get earmarks - pork barrel spending – all the things that John McCain says is bad, she lobbied to get!"

As Obama tried to reclaim the mantle of change today – he coined a new term for his Republican opponents – the "No Change Express."

The media has been looking into Obama for over two years. They can''t get an interview with Palin. Even the reporters on express are kept away from her. This weekend she will be interviewed by a hand pick conservative republican.

Who wrote Obama''''s speech?
Why is Obama only REstating everything he said at his convention speech?
Lets show the kind of cynicism as shown to Palin.
McCain & Palin have the experience and knowledge we need!

I thought Obama writes his own speeches. Maybe not all of them.

slaybelle why do you not look into factual sources that tell you what Obama is about.

The Fox News network give the slanted Republican view. Why not look into the New York Times.

Each news outlet will give you their take.

Read the two and balance the two with a grain of salt.

Please bring me up to date. Is Nader running in this election? He could be my last hope, considering there are no other choices! It really is too bad that once this election is decided half of our country will still have to be disappointed in the results. Unity will not be had this time around it seems. We''ve waited eight years, now it will still be another four at the least. Guess I''ll just have to spend more time in the corner pub consoling myself!

While the media are busily looking into everything Palin says or does, has said or done, why doesn''t anyone look into Obama and what he really stands for???
