Obama: Watching Michelle's Speech Was "Nerve-Wracking"

(KANSAS CITY, MO.) Although the pressure was on Michelle Obama last night, Barack Obama was a ball of nerves as he watched his wife's speech.

"It's nerve-wracking," he said as he sat on the sofa of at the home of Jim and Alicia Girardeau.

Obama seemed relaxed during his brother-in-law Craig Robinson's speech, even smiling and laughing at times. But when his wife took the stage, Obama became stoic, listening intently to her every word. He didn't show a lot of emotion, although he later told reporters that it was an emotional evening.

After the speech, as his daughters joined Michelle on stage, Obama perked up and exclaimed, "It's the peas!"

He seemed to be taken a back by his younger daughter, Sasha, who took the microphone to talk to her father. "Hi Daddy!," she called out, "Hi Girardeau Family… Daddy, where are you?!" Realizing that his wife and daughters had clearly taken the spotlight, Obama abandoned his script and laughed.

When the evening came to a close, Obama proclaimed that his wife was fantastic, adding, "I'm not surprised. When she does something, she does it well."

"She told her story and that's it," he said, "It's a story a lot of families can relate to. You know, her Dad struggled and worked hard."

Can we put aside Republican fears that (as Fox News called her) Obama''s Baby Mama will:

-Decorate the White House in the Red Black & Green?

-Create the independent black nation of Detroit?

-Name P-Diddy the Secretary of Music?

-Make watermelon the national fruit?

There''s good news! This lovely mother Michelle Obama & her two darling daughters are just as American as me & you, with the same values & the same dreams for her girls as you have for your children. She is a devoted wife who is truly inspired by her husband''s leadership & still sincerely in love. She is someone who has pulled herself up from her bootstraps.

Don''t let misinformation fool you.
If some rich kid can''t spend a trillion dollars right, it''s time we give someone from a family with a monthly budget like the rest of us a chance.

Yes, They Are Black, we can say it. It''s not a bad word. There are black families everywhere who are good American people. The Obamas are a beacon of hope, an example of everything that is still right with America! They exemplify how education levels the playing field so that anyone can achieve their dreams if they work hard at it.

So let''s confront the elephant & be done with it. The Obamas are black & they are also just as American as you & me...maybe even better than me! That''s okay. I need a leader I can admire....Anice Ladi; Reply to this comment

no matter how she says it, has her children say it, or babble-rack himself say it she''s an angry mean spirited woman who hates WHITE America.

any speech she gives now is an attempt to CHANGE America''s view of her, but you can rest assure that OUR party will remind folks just how angry and mean spirited she really is.

Now onto Hill-arious Clinton.

what a joke she is now.

I just hope Slick Willy has enough stamina to listen to his wife make a fool of herself tonight.

Michelle delivered a very heart-warming speech that my 11 year old daughter applauded. Why? Becasue she was able to understand what was being said without mommy having to break it down.
