From CBS News' John Bentley:

(PHOENIX) – Seeing yourself talk about the break-up of your marriage on the big screen is probably not what John McCain expected when he went to church this morning.

But that's exactly what happened at the North Phoenix Baptist Church today, when Pastor Dan Yeary played a clip from Rick Warren's interview with McCain last weekend where he asked him what his "greatest moral failing" was.

"The failure of my first marriage," McCain told Warren. "It's my greatest moral failure."

McCain and his wife Cindy both looked visibly uncomfortable during the presentation, which was played on big screens in the sanctuary where about 1,000 people had gathered for the service. Yeary also played Barack Obama's answer, where he talked about experimenting with drugs and drinking when he was a teenager.

Yeary's point was that everyone has moral failings and that it took courage for both presidential candidates to admit to them on national TV.

John and Cindy McCain have been members of NPBC for many years. Pastor Yeary was trying to show that we all have failings. A sin is a sin and John has asked and recieved forgiviness. That is all that matters. God forgives and we in turn, forgive. Try to find a candidate or any one for that matter who is free from sin. There was only one. The scripture tells us that "All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God".
Political candidates not excluding.

I don''t vote for adulterers period.
Looks like the McCains should have stayed with the Episcopal Church.
Baptist love to point out flaws of church members. Episcopalians mind their own business. Has anyone ever figured out why John & Cindy changed religions...I think I know why??? Can you say South Carolina.... check out this site..

Well, let the truth be known..McCain committed adultry with several women from 1974-1979...then, he quote "fell in love" with Cindy, 18years younger and millions OF $$$ wealthier at a cocktail party in Hawaii. Only problem McCain was STILL MARRIED TO CAROL... HIS 1st wife with 3 kids at home. BUT THAT DIDN''T STOP MCCAIN...he proceeded to "date" Cindy for 9 MONTHS flying all over the country romancing Cindy.
McCain even applied for a marriage license before his divorce. Once he got his divorce, he married Cindy in 5 WEEKS. YES,
REPUBLICANS...FIVE WEEKS. MCCAIN IS SCUM IN MY BOOK AND ANY FAMILY VALUE REPUBLICAN SHOULD READ ALL THIS MAN. He & Cindy paid off his 1st wife to shut her up & Cindy has the fortune of $200 MILLION to keep her quiet.
Meanwhile, McCain plays the wounded POW very well...like he was the only one held as pow in Vietnam. Funny thing I saw actual film of him walking out of the pow camp last week on CNN and yet when he got his medals from Nixon he was on crutches. He really likes to play us on his injuries...this is how he got elected in Arizona..playing up the injured soldier. It''s enough already!

It is extremely naive to think that this video was not engineered by the McCain campaign. McCain''s shallow and horrible treatment of his first wife (and the fact that he''s been married twice while Obama has been married only once) is part of his Achilles heel when it comes to conservative voters. They mistrust his values (many of them *do* remember his role in the Keating Five scandal, though the mainstream press does not), and this video is obviously an effort to diffuse criticism of what he did years ago. You can be certain that every frame of that video was vetted (if not actually produced) by his campaign.

After attending church services at North Phoenix Baptist, McCain should have altered his plans. Instead of taking in a D''Backs game(along with the free TV shots), he should have gone up to North 19th Avenue between Bethnay Homne Roda and Glendale Avenue and taken in the mile long row of boarded up and fenced off foreclosed homes. Instead of waiting to get residuals from Bush-Cheney ventures in Irag, he should concentrate on bringing our women and men home and getting OUR economy fixed. But, wait! Maybe we can all marry into money and be just like him.

As heiress to her father''s stake in Hensley & Co. of Phoenix, Cindy McCain is an executive whose worth may exceed $100 million. Her beer earnings have afforded John McCain a wealthy lifestyle with a private jet and numerous vacation homes at his disposal.

In 1994, Cindy McCain granted interviews to a TV station & 3 newspapers in Arizona, in which she talked about her addiction to Percocet and Vicodin. She claimed that her addiction came about after painful back and knee problems and was exacerbated by the stress of the Keating Five banking scandal that involved John McCain.

To make matters worse, Cindy McCain admitted, she had stolen the drugs from the American Voluntary Medical Team, her own charity, and had been investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

And that, Ladies & Gentlemen, is just the stuff we KNOW about.

McCain''s first wife Carol not only waited 5 1/2 years for her husband to return from Vietnam, but she also suffered a terrible auto accident during that period, which broke both her legs and one arm and ruptured her spleen. She nearly lost her left leg, and surgeries left her four inches shorter than she was before the accident.

After McCain''s dramatic homecoming from Vietnam, his marriage to Carol began disintegrating while McCain was stationed in Jacksonville. McCain has admitted to having extramarital affairs.

Although McCain suggested in his autobiography that months passed between his divorce and remarriage, the divorce was granted April 2, 1980, and he wed Cindy Hensley in a private ceremony five weeks later. McCain obtained an Arizona marriage license on March 6, 1980, while still legally married to his first wife.

1979, John McCain was in Hawaii, attending a military reception. While there, he met a young, blonde former cheerleader from Phoenix named Cindy Hensley

McCain was immediately dazzled and spent the event chatting her up.

"She was lovely, intelligent and charming, 17 years my junior but poised and confident," McCain wrote in his 2002 book, Worth the Fighting For. "I monopolized her attention the entire time, taking care to prevent anyone else from intruding on our conversation. When it came time to leave the party, I persuaded her to join me for drinks at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. By the evening''s end, I was in love."

McCain recalls that both he and Cindy initially lied to each other about their ages. McCain made himself a little younger, and Cindy made herself a little older. They found out their real ages when the local paper published them. McCain was 43, Cindy 25.

After a whirlwind courtship, John asked Cindy to marry him. But there were some "details" to clear out of the way. McCain needed a divorce from Carol, his wife of 14 years.
