Cindy McCain Hospitalized For Minor Hand Injury

(CBS)
(BIRMINGHAM, MICH.) - Cindy McCain visited a hospital today for an examination after an event with her husband in Michigan.
According to McCain spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker, "At some point during the rope line an enthusiastic supporter shook Mrs. McCain's hand and exacerbated an existing carpal tunnel condition for which she has had previous surgeries. Out of an abundance of caution, she decided to leave the event and visit the local hospital for x-rays where she was treated for a minor sprain."
"She has a minor sprain," McCain said. "Now she looks a lot better and won't have to shake so many hands."
"We appreciate everyone's concern and she is back on the campaign trail now," Hazelbaker added in a statement.
