(HONOLULU) Barack Obama worked out with his wife and toured some favorite local spots on the second day of his weeklong vacation.

Obama and his wife, Michelle, worked out together at the 24 Hour Fitness gym, where they tried to burn off the calories from their late night dinner on Saturday. An aerobics class stopped their work out to wave to the famous couple as the left the gym.

The Obamas, with their daughters Malia and Sasha in tow, later visited the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park on the eastern side of Oahu. The park commemorates the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii and features a Buddhist temple. They also stopped at Aloha Tropical Farms - a Macadamia nut outlet.

Longtime friend Bobby Titcomb hosted an evening BBQ for Obama and his entourage. Titcomb played basketball with Obama at Punahou High School in the late '70s and the two have remained friends ever since.

Although Obama spent his Sunday relaxing, his Chicago office was working away on a new ad jabbing at John McCain.

This morning they released the ad entitled, "Embrace", which features McCain as a "Washington celebrity." The ad has clips of McCain on Saturday Night Live and video of him embracing President Bush.

Bush stays out of the USA watching sports while Russia reignites the cold war and invades a neighboring country. Now that is news. But the media is used to Bush doing nothing, so I guess they don''t see anything to write about.

Meanwhile McBush continues to propose the same failed policeis toward Russia that Bush has had and helped fuel the Russian invasion.

You could almost imagine that Bushie wanted Russia to invade. War and fear have been good vote getters for McBush and the Repug fear mongers.; Reply to this comment

by karela33 August 11, 2008 10:16 PM EDT: McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. McCain squired Chalabi around Washington and worked to promote him with U.S. Government for 18 years. McCain fought to get U.S. money for Chalabi. Chalabi became the "source" for telling U.S. that Saddam had WMDs. We paid Chalabi $349,000 per month and he lied to us while feeding Iran top secret information. McCain used to be against torture, but then he voted for CIA to continue with torture. As a result, a man under torture, told us that Saddam had WMDs, but later said he only said it to stop the pain. Chalabi and the torture "information" were the reasons the Bush administration and McCain said we had to attack Iraq. As a result, we have spent a trillion dollars, lost the lives of 4,300 Americans, gravely injured another 35,000 Americans and are responsible for the deaths of nearly a million Iraqis as well as destroying the infrastructure of Iraq. Those are mistakes that are too big to ignore. McCain, Cheney and Bush were the loudest voices fighting for war with Iraq and they were supposedly the most experienced politicians around. We don''t need "experienced", we need someone with judgment who gets it right on the big issues. We really can''t afford four more years of this. We need a change to reason and judgment and wisdom. Those are refreshing qualities to retreat to. In 54 months when I retire, I will be going to Okinawa for one year to purge myself of this countries'' poison. Go Obama!; Reply to this comment

George Bush and John McCain both have contributed to the overt lie that Saddam Hussein had Nuclear Weapons and a viable delivery system to launch an attack against the United States. In reality the Republicans created a reason to start a war against an already defeated country just to divert yours and mine Federal Treasury Funds to Private War Contractors and, secure long term Oil Operation contracts for 5 Private Multinational Corporations including Exxon.

The Values and Principles that you tout are nothing in regard to what the Republican Party really stand for. The actions and results of the Republicans in Congress and the Bush Administration have been detrimental to the majority of middle class working Americans. Governmental Spending has increased while tax revenues have decreased, our infrastructure is deteriorating, and corruption has been fostered as the normal course of action in all government agencies.

Americans need to vote in favor of their better interests, Middle Class Workers will not be able to afford another Republican Conservative Agenda Presidential term.; Reply to this comment

Heartland values, not Hollywood values, still define what most voters want in a president. Most voters want a president whom they perceive as loyal, courageous, hardworking, and fair. Someone who commands the respect of others through the strength of his character and the wisdom of his actions. Someone who is prepared to fight to protect his home and country from invaders. In other words, someone who appeals to voters, on a psychological or emotional level, as the kind of person they would want for a father, husband, boss, or comrade-in-arms.

Rock stars may be fun, but they do not fit this image. Neither does Obama. His life story, while unique and interesting, bespeaks little more than an ambitious and opportunistic young man, still wet behind the ears, with an unhealthy fascination with his own ego - and potentially unreliable when the chips are down.

The American people are not going to entrust the security and prosperity of the country to such an immature and unproven man.; Reply to this comment
