From CBS News' John Bentley:

(WILMINGTON, OHIO) - John McCain told the employees of a DHL facility in Wilmington, Ohio, that he would hold congressional hearings and have the Justice Department investigate the possible closing of that facility after some had accused McCain and his campaign manager of playing a role in the merger that could cause the closing.

"I believe that the Justice Department should conduct a thorough and complete investigation as rapidly as possible," McCain told about two dozen community members. "I can't assure you that this train wreck isn't going to happen, but I will do everything in my power to see that we avert it."

The shipping hub in Wilmington was purchased by the German company DHL six years ago in a deal that Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, lobbied for. DHL may now outsource some its work to UPS, which could put 8,000 people out of work in Wilmington. McCain also said the heads of the DHL should come to Wilmington to meet with the employees as well

"I value our friendship and our alliance with Germany and the German people," McCain said, then added: "I think it's more than appropriate to come in and to talk to the individuals whose lives are being affected."

If the facility is closed, McCain said he would help laid off employees get trained for new jobs as well as other benefits while they tried to find work.

McCain should fire everyone in his campaign that worked with Bush.

It''s clear McCain is acting just like Bush. First he lies to us and takes something away from us. When he''s caught, he promises to do everything in his power.

If elected, McCain will be just like Bush. The only thing he''ll do is continue sending our jobs to Colombia and Mexico. Remember those trips he made a month ago? I do.

McCain is the epitome of deceitfulness.

from MailOnline: "Ted Sampley, who fought with US Special Forces in Vietnam and is now a leading campaigner for veterans%u2019 rights, said: %u2018I have been following John McCain%u2019s career for nearly 20 years. I know him personally. There is something wrong with this guy and let me tell you what it is %u2013 deceit." John McCain and his campaign manager helped to ship our jobs overseas and now he says he "didn''t see it coming". Of course he only "sees" it now that it will affect the swing state of Ohio. He''s trying to paint Obama as an elitist, but he''s the one that seems totally out of touch and will do anything to get elected. I''ve had enough of Paris, Brittany and McCain. We need someone serious in the White House, who actually thinks about issues and the consequences of their actions.

So ol clueless John didn''t see this coming when he was pushing the merger a few years ago? Perhaps he isn''t bright enough to understand the ramifications of his choices. Hasn''t been able to since he was providing cover for Charles Keating in the 80s. The next four years are going to be tough enough without having someone who understands so little about economics at the helm.
