Obama Talks With "Rolling Stone"

(CBS)
From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:
(CHICAGO) "Rolling Stone" hits the stands today with a cover article on Barack Obama, who sat down for an exclusive interview with the magazine's co-founder and publisher Jann Wenner. Wenner pressed Obama on a hodgepodge of topics including his diminishing ego and his famous friends.
Obama told Wenner that his ego has been brought down a notch with age, and that his self-described "steady temper" is a result of that. "I've discovered that I don't get a lot of satisfaction from being the center of attention, but I do get satisfaction from getting work done," Obama said, "And that, in turn, has lead to a confirmation that I have a steady temper."
Obama also spoke about rap music, which he said sometimes touts misogyny and materialism. Although he defended friends, Jay-Z, Ludacris and Russell Simmons, describing them as great business men, Obama had some advice for the rappers.
"It would be nice if I could have my daughters listen to their music without me worrying that they were getting bad images of themselves."
He added that he listens to Jay-Z, as well as Sheryl Crow, Yo-Yo Ma, and Miles Davis on his iPod on the campaign trail.
