Obama Kicks Off Economy Tour in "Red" State of N.C.

CHICAGO -- Barack Obama heads to North Carolina today, as he kicks off a two week campaign swing intended to focus on the economy. In his speech today, Obama is expected to continue to draw parallels between John McCain's economic plan and George Bush's.

During the next two weeks, Obama will travel to states which typically do not vote for a Democratic presidential candidates in general elections. Although North Carolina has not voted for the Democrat since Jimmy Carter in 1976, the campaign is confident that they can put the state into play this year. They are counting on the vast grassroots organization that they built in the state during the primary contest, as well as Obama's appeal to students and African Americans. Obama beat Hillary Clinton in the North Carolina primary by a double digit margin.

Last week, Obama campaigned in Virginia, also considered a "red" - or Republican - state, and will make his way to the battlegrounds of Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida in the coming days. A campaign aide told CBS News that their strategy going forward to make Republicans work harder in states they could typically "check off" in previous elections, hence the trips to North Carolina and Virginia.

Besides the office of the Presidency, Republicans in the US Senate have filibustered more than 70 pieces of legislation (73) in the current session of Congress. Not all of these attempts have ended in success. Bills have passed. But the modern rate of obstructionism has been historic, far surpassing the previous record of 62 cloture votes. The Republican Party as a whole are voting against the better interests of the American People.

Why should we (the American People) vote for any of them?

africa is now the center of economic competition for india, china and other major economic powers. wouldn''t it be lovely if the us had some sort of advantage there? the election of sen obama may well cause the many africans who are proud of his achievement to look favorably on the us. in a time when most agree the us image is tarnished perhaps the election of obama would reverse that and not only in africa. www.saintpeterii.com

Obama will win Va and NC. The Republicans and their backers overplayed their hands by putting in Bush, and now the people are on to their eternal scams. The McSame attack isn''t entirely accurate, but it''s substantially correct after McCain''s embrace of so many things he previously had a backbone against, so he will correctly be seen as beholden to the same interests who got our country into the mess it''s in today.

The Republicans have imposed an invisible TAX RAISE on the American People by driving the price of Oil, Natural Gas, and Electricity. The Higher Energy $Costs have contributed to the increase of prices you and I will be paying for EVERYTHING.

The price of oil per barrel was under $50.00 before the Bush Administration%u2019s invasion and occupation of Iraq. Iraqi Oil removed from the world market, and the further THREAT of proliferation of military conflict on other Middle Eastern Countries has allowed Futures Oil Speculators to run with the price of oil.

America needs a change, a complete and comprehensive energy plan and implementation needs to take place. Drilling in protected areas of Alaska is the solution the Republicans have to answer the conundrum they have put our country into. It%u2019s been the oil profit ambition by the Conservative Republican Party that has put Americans into the situation you find yourself each and every time you go to the pump, and or supermarket.

Dear American Voters,

Hon. Senator McCain and Obama, besides each having many attributes and characteristics. The critical differences between the two of these presidential presumptive nominees are as under:

1. Presidential "Temperament and Composer".
2. Little Washington "insider Versus outsider" experience.
3. "Vision and mission" for our nation future rather than past.
4. American policies, " first U.S.A Centric" than any other country [ ies ] centric.

In my professional opinion Senator Obama leads in all above qualities.

The need of our next movement and generation is a change. The Change in " past Washington and its Leadership". A change we can believe in and not the seductive, deceptive, and confusing slogan of "leader we can believe in" [? Effexor ?".

Our Greatgrand Nation has to address many present and future challenges and start with new clean "Slate and Senator".

God Bless America. its diverse people, and our Greatgrand Nation.

Our Greatgrand Nation is needs the CHANGE at every level and for long time.

I am sure Senator Obama with the help of Senator Clinton and her supporters, can deliver that CHANGE.

No amount of preeching, coddling, singing praises for the idealist future, no amount of promises or illusions of grand change will allow a "black man" to lead this country, one that will raise your taxes, at this juncture. The USA is not ready of an unqualified- inexperianced person any more. No amount of money or excellent speeches will change that.
