Obama Camp Not Confident That It Will Be Over Tomorrow

TROY, MICH. -- Just a day before the end of the Democratic primary season, Barack Obama's campaign is not yet confident that they will have the delegates needed to clinch the nomination by tomorrow evening. Despite hosting what is being touted as a "major" rally kicking off the next phase of the campaign, Obama is still courting superdelegates today. He spoke to superdelegates this morning and will continue to do so through tomorrow evening.

According to communications director Robert Gibbs, the campaign is confident that all superdelegates will make a decision within the next 48-72 hours. He said many supers chose to wait until the last primaries in order to decide who to support.

Once Obama clinches the nomination, Gibbs acknowledged they will have to campaign hard for Clinton voters. However, he dismissed the notion that the Democratic Party will be disenfranchised going forward, and drew an analogy to the Bush-McCain contest in 2000, saying that, eventually, bitter McCain supporters came around and supported Bush.

At a town hall meeting here today, Obama frequently spoke about a potential general election match up with McCain and vowed to work with Clinton this fall.

"Let me tell ya something, first of all, Senator Clinton has run an outstanding race, she is an outstanding public servant and she and I will be working together in November," Obama said.

"And I think all of us will be unified in making sure that George Bush's economic policies and George Bush's foreign policies are also not going to the White House."

No one deserves the Presidency - they have to earn it. Hillary has failed to earn it. If you think by destroying Obama''s chance to getting elected this year, you will somehow get Clinton to run in 2012, you are living in a dream-land. If Obama loses the election, the Clintons will be held responsible and will be kicked out of the Democratic party.

Hillary Roddam-Roddam as my mentor Rush Limbaugh puts it, had a thirty percentage point lead on every other candidate from both major parties. The Democratic Party has a mountain of evidence, actions, and results from the last 8 years of the Conservative Rubber Stamp Congress, and the Bush/Cheney Whitehouse.

It was Hillary%u2019s Campaign to lose, before the turn of this election year Madam Clinton was the clear front runner. I believe in retrospect that if Hillary would%u2019ve continued her campaign running against the Conservative Agenda instead of side tracking her focus on Senator Obama she would%u2019ve weathered the primary assault and today would the delegate leader for the nomination.

The Campaign became ugly and a hit below the belt contest. I%u2019m astounded by hard core Hillary supporters acting out like republicans! I really don%u2019t care who becomes President, I%u2019m concerned with the issues facing our country (like Hillary should%u2019ve ran on). If McCain becomes President because of the lack of support from a unified Party it would be then up to the Congress to promote change. This can be achieved though it would be a road harder traveled.

Americans must determine what is in there better interests.

I am amazed at the ignorance of this candidate. I WILL NOT vote for him and his racist wife.never. All this talk that Hillary supporters are going to all come together and hold hands with Obama and vote for him in the fall is crazy. If we vote McCain he will be up against an democratic congress, effectively nutering him for four years. Then Hillary can take another shot and us (millions) will make *** sure she gets the Presidency she so richly deserves and The United States who deserves her. I''m proud of my vote for her and will continue to support her. The media trashed her, Obama supporters disrespected her in shocking fashion and yet she fought, continued to fight against insurmountable odds. If anything, you gotta respect that.
