Obama: McCain "Doesn't Want to be Seen" With Bush

LAS VEGAS -- Barack Obama took a swipe at John McCain today for holding a closed fundraiser with President Bush, accusing him of trying to hide his ties to the current administration. "He's holding a fundraiser with George Bush behind closed doors in Arizona. No cameras. No reporters. And we all know why," Obama said at a town hall meeting here. "Sen. McCain doesn't want to be seen, hat-in-hand, with the president whose failed policies he promises to continue for another four years."

Obama has linked McCain to Bush and Dick Cheney for months now, arguing that McCain will continue many of their policies. "On issue after issue, John McCain is offering more of the same policies that have failed for the last eight years," Obama said. "That's the agenda that he and the president are raising money to support later today."

A McCain spokesman said Obama was trying to divert attention away from more substantial issues. "It isn't surprising that Barack Obama is trying to disguise his own lack of depth and weak leadership on economic issues with political generalizations and superficial attacks," said Tucker Bounds. He added that all of McCain's fundraisers are closed to the media.

Until recently, Obama's fundraisers have been closed to the press as well. Currently, the campaign has a print pool reporter at all public fundraisers; however, cameras are not allowed. Fundraisers held at the homes of private citizens are closed to all media.

Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon.
The Democratic race for nomination is still very much alive %u2013 and most likely to be decided by superdelegates %u2013 as CNN points out clearly

The closed fundraisers are for the attendees. You know, like the ones to whom Obama said,

''You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years. And they fell through the Clinton Administration and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate, and they have not. And it''s not surprising then they get bitter. They cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren''t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.''

Execute a plan to immediately withdraw all US troops from occupying the sovereign country of Iraq. Mission complete.

Reinforce and rejuvenate Operation Enduring Freedom.

Energetically focus on and finish this mission without delay or distraction. Mission active.

Stop the corporate way of thinking from overwhelming our Department of Defense.

Retain, reward, and promote robust military leaders of the troops for the troops.

Operation Rat Catcher. Escort all yes men and woman, politicians in uniform, desk commandos, gutless glory seeking wannabes, and any other tactically malfunctioning leaders who endanger frontline troop safety and morale toward the backdoor of Pentagon and kick once in their leather chair soften derriere swiftly in the direction of the Potomac.

Reestablish first class from the troop up funding, respect, and support to our troops and veterans in all things government.

Freedom is not free.

McCain doesn''t want to be seen with Bush? Can''t say I blame him, I wouldn''t want to cross the street with him.
However I am sure McCain takes the money that goes along with being seen. LOL
