From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

SAN JUAN, P.R. -- This afternoon, Barack Obama responded to Hillary Clinton's comments yesterday when she referenced th assassination of Robert F. Kennedy as a reason she's staying in the race this year. Obama said he believes that Clinton was not trying to be offensive.

"I have learned that when you are campaigning for as many months as Senator Clinton and I have been campaigning, sometimes you get careless in terms of the statements that you make and I think that is what happened here," Obama said in a radio interview today.

"Senator Clinton says that she did not intend any offense by it and I will take her at her word on that."

Meantime, the Puerto Rican community hosted a caminata - a traditional march for government officials - for Obama in Old San Juan. As he marched, salsa music played throughout the town.

"I will never forget the support and the friendship that I've seen here in Puerto Rico and I hope that everybody is going to be turning out to vote next Sunday because you can go ahead and put me over the top. If we do well in Puerto Rico, there is no reason why I will not be announcing that I am the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America."

There are 55 delegates at stake in what's turned out to be relevant Puerto Rico caucuses on June 1.

I love the way Obama''s people jumped on Clinton''s remark, spun it until it was on fire and then he magically comes out and says, "she didn''t mean it". OF COURSE SHE DIDN''T! It was in no way intended to suggest that he might be assassinated, but these incompetent media personas just HAD to have something to scream about over the weekend. This is just one of the reasons her supporters will NEVER vote for him. And with this bunk, the numbers are growing. This man plays an evil game and has untold ulterior motives. NO to OBAMA 08

Did Hillary''s RFK Remark Doom Her?

If it didn''t it most certainly should. It shows what diabolical & devious mind set this Woman has.

Robert Kennedy was one of our most beloved and caring candidate''s this country has ever seen. Senator Ted Kennedy, the liberal lion, as he is often referred to, endorsed Obama, much to the chagrine of Hillary. Senator Kennedy has also recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer of the brain.

To Hillary this was an opportunity to SAY LOUD & CLEAR FOR ALL AMERICANS to see what me Hillary Clinton is all about. Will not pass up a sick & perverted opportunity that this afforded. GOTCHA TED - GOTCHA OBAMA.

CACKLE CACKLE CACKLE - So blatantly contempable. The Clinton''s diversive & polarizing polictics. It''s time for them to go!

The rules committee meets next week probably to decide what to do about MI & FL. If they don''t lavish Clinton with delegates and split them in some reasonable fashion, will Hillary start ratcheting down the rhetoric and gravitate toward the team concept, or will she continue with the "subtle" jabs. BTW, I''m not referring to the RFK thing, but the misogynist comment she recently made, or McCain''s a better choice... things like that.

It is the same revolting strategy that Obama has employed against Bill and Hillary. With Bill, he is the one who raises the ''race card'' on Bill. With Hillary, he raises ''the assassination card'' to make himself important and marginalize her at the same time. Then, now he acts if he ''forgives'' her. This is disgusting! It was clear from the context of her remark that she was talking about various campaign activities in June from past campaigns. Once she recognizes the potential misunderstanding, she came right out and apologized. Unlike Obama and his reverend Wright, it took 20 years without any recognition of poor judgment and he aggressively accused America of taking things out of context before the evidence was made beyond any shadow of the doubt.
