Obama on Clinton VP Speculation

From CBS News' Michelle Levi:

BEAVERTON, ORE. – Barack Obama spoke out about a possible Obama/Hillary Clinton ticket today, saying "she would be on anyone's short list of vice presidential candidates."

A member of the audience in the town hall here asked him his thoughts about having Clinton as his running mate. "Were you put up by one of those reporters back there?" Obama joked. He then launched into his usual disclaimer, saying he would not speculate on his running mate until he is the nominee. "She is going to do very well in West Virginia and Kentucky," he said. "She will win those states in all likelihood by significant margins."

Obama changed his tone a little during the second part of his answer, praising Clinton and offering fodder for those speculating on the "dream ticket." "I will say that she has shown herself to be an extraordinary candidate and an extraordinary public servant," Obama said. "She is hard working, she is tough, she is very smart and so I think she would be on anyone's list."

I have been talking to other Obama supporters, and we think that Richardson from New Mexico would make a great running mate for him, he has allot of experience, and seems very honest, and pretty much thinks along most of the same lines as Obama. Whats everyone''s take on this???? OBAMA 08

Some say, never count out the Clintons. I say, never trust the Clintons. Even though Obama thinks he can relax now, he should be careful and keep an eye on Clinton, and expect them to pull any last ditch dirty work. Never trust the Clintons, never make friends with them.

Let me remind you what one of the oldest and trustworthy democrat president Jimmy Carter said about Clintons. "Clintons will be your friend only when they need something from you".

In the beginning, there was only Iowa. So where is a %u2018Big Lie%u2019? Yes, it was in Iowa. It happened in December. It fell from the lips of the candidate who would later claim victory (albeit: the slimmest of victories, a meager third of the vote) in the Democratic Caucus. He said (and this is a quote from the NY Times), %u201C%u2026.the only nuclear legislation that I%u2019ve passed. I just did that last year%u2026.%u201D (The Big Lie). This was in response to a discussion on leaks in Illinois of nuclear plant groundwater contamination. Nuclear contamination.
Again, I quote the author, Mike McIntire from his February 3, 2008 article in the New York Times. Exelon (contributed over $225,000 to Obama) .It is %u2018The Big Lie%u2019 because he never passed the legislation, many in Iowa believed him, and the Illinois senator was never quizzed about it. He then moved forward basing a part of his entire campaign on something he didn%u2019t do, but said he did.
To base your first win on %u2018The Big Lie%u2019 is to have the rest of your wins cast in that shadow of your %u2018First Big Lie%u2019. Judgment is critical to Senator Obama%u2019s presidential hopes. He has little else, no bills or legislation of his own passed, no lengthy time in the US Senate, and maybe just his veracity as his only virtue. But where is that %u2018good judgment%u2019 if you told %u2018The Big Lie%u2019 first?

"You seem to have a real hard time understanding that half the Dem party wants Hillary not Obama."?

This was posted by tazmjam in response to b-easy63. The majority of Democratic voters are the working Americans, not the elite. They are also the majority of the American people. There are a whole lot of us that are for HRC, college educated working individuals. Something is very wrong with Obama, his judgment is questionable. Anyone that would make a comment like the one he did at a fund raiser about us in small town, rural Midwest America is ten kinds of a fool.
As I have stated before, have Obama as the nominee, and I can guarantee the Democrats will NOT win the White House. Those super delegates that are supporting him like Edward Kennedy are known to be out in left field. Also if Obama has an accident if elected if won''t be because of the Clintons. It will be from radical Muslims that feel he is still a Muslim because of his biological and his stepfather and he has abandoned the faith of the true believers and he should be executed.

I suspect that Barak is smart enough that he knows picking Hillary is the only way to have a chance of winning.

A look at the disinformation in many of the blogs on this article shows the extent of ill will that Barak''s supporters have created.

Barak understands that he needs Hillary''s supporters to win in Nov. His supporters have not figured that out.

Barak''s support of Howard Dean''s effort to disenfranchise Florida''s voters has probably cost him any chance of winning Florida. He may not even appear on Florida''s ballot (Florida is considering a law that would have the effect of removing him from the ballot if the delegates are not seated.)

As bad as Bush has done, Howard Dean as probably pulled defeat from the jaws of victory.

Why not select a long time ally like Rev. Wright, or Ayers, or the guy who helped him get his property.

Hillary Clinton has raised more then $198 million dollars for her campaign and yet is $25 million in debt.

This goes to show why she is unfit to be President.
$25 million in debt and she claims to have passed the Steward of the Economy test.

But Hillary made LOANS to her campaign and now she will want that money repaid so all you Hillary Supporters like RowdyTexan, you better increase your donations to Hillarys campaign (or should it now be called the Hillary Loan Repayment Fund)

But please remember Hillary will get ALL her money back, because its a LOAN; you however will only have your memories and a smaller bank balance.

Hillary relies on suckers like you to GIVE your money, while she cleverly LOANS hers.

When this is over she will have a bath in 100 dollar bills because all her 110 million dollar fortune is still there ! But don%u2019t worry she will be thinking of you and your kind donations !

Hillary would rather accept McCain''s VP offering than OBAMA the empty suit. Since Hillary voters are going to vote for McCain anyway. Talk it over and resolve the differences.

McCain - Hillary 08 a sure-win

Obama is smart. He''s got to know putting Clinton on the ticket as his second-in-command is jeopardizing his/his family''s safety, given the JFK,Jr. events in 1999.

He has to know that having HC as
VP would insure he would be undermined and backstabbed at
every turn.

And he has to know that putting her on the ticket is a pretty sure
guarantee that he WON''T win.

Sorry, folks, but I''m starting to
smell a rat here. Like perhaps Obama is serving a Trojan Horse function, whether he knows it or
not. Just like what GWB has done for Cheney for 8 years. Hillary can''t get in on her own and knows it. Obama comes in, everything she''s not, and beats her handily. Then she scratches and claws publicly until he''s convinced he has no other choice than to make her the VP nominee to shut her up.

If Obama puts her on the ticket, I''m done with the Dems. For anyone else of similar feelings, I''d suggest leave comments on his
site now before its too late.
