McCain Returns to Campaign Trail

PHOENIX -- After a weekend in Arizona and as his rivals prepare for primaries in Indiana and North Carolina, John McCain's back and begins his day with a press conference in Phoenix.

McCain is expected to issue a statement on Cinco De Mayo while launching a Spanish version of his website. Later today he travels to North Carolina for a town hall meeting where it's expected McCain will continue to paint his opponents as out of touch on health care issues and the economy, while promoting his "gas tax holiday".

Throughout the week, McCain's camp says he will offer a window into his leadership style as he focuses on his traditional conservative base. With a major speech planned tomorrow on judicial philosophy in Winston-Salem, N.C., McCain will explain that he will appoint judges to the Supreme Court who have strict interpretations of the Constitution.

On Wednesday, he will lay out his commitment to human rights, touching on abortion and human trafficking while he campaigns in Michigan. On Thursday and Friday, McCain is back on the East Coast with events in New York City and New Jersey.

Some of his questions and comments were outright innane! Scott, get with it. Katie Couric would have done a much better job with this story.; Reply to this comment

And no mention of Pat Robertson''s, Billy Graham and Paulson''s anti-Semetic and anti-gay comments? Why is it that only a Black reverend gets hated by the media?; Reply to this comment


by mattcat25 May 5, 2008 3:05 PM EDT: John McCain clearly stated without any misquotes, or contextual presented manipulation, that the Iraq War was for Oil. McCain was referring to his Energy Policy and said, %u201CWe will never have to send our men and woman into conflict AGAIN%u201D
