From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- For the second time in a week, Barack Obama showed off his basketball skills for the cameras. Despite holding a late night rally last night, Obama was up bright and early today ready to play a five-on-five game with the University of North Carolina basketball team.

The UNC game was a stark contrast from the three-on-three game in Kokomo, Indiana, last week. Although Alison Bales, a member of the WNBA's Indiana Fever, participated in the game, the other players were local area high school students and college freshmen.

This morning, however, the UNC players gave Obama a run for his money. He did not make any of his shots and often lagged behind the other players on the court. Shortly into the game, Obama took a break and chatted with the Tar Heels coach, Roy Williams.

In his defense, Obama was playing with college basketball stars such as 6'9" Tyler Hansbrough. Hansbrough, who was the National Player of the Year this season, was on Obama's team. However, neither Coach Williams nor the players gave the Senator a break. At one point, Williams joked, "You guys are leaving the next President of the United States wide open!"

One of the players apologized to Obama after he was fouled, but Obama told him not to worry. "The Secret Service won't do anything to you."

Hey, I notice that Obama''s got Sam Perkins sitting there on the sidelines with him, along with Chapel Hill''s Congressional Rep (and Superdelegate) David Price. I can certainly understand why Representative Price didn''t hit the floor with Obama, but why isn''t Big Smooth out there?

And, as a Tar Heel myself, I''ve just got to wonder which candidate got Michael Jordan''s primary vote? Now *that* would be an endorsement that would trump even Edwards''s in North Carolina. :-)

Hey CBS, is it Maria Gavrilovic''s job to turn in puff pieces on Barry Obama? I''m asking b/c that''s all she seems to do.
