Obama: "We're Winning"

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

NEW ALBANY, IND. -- Barack Obama was quick to respond to charges that he can't "close the deal" in his race with Hillary Clinton by saying that, in effect, he already has. "The way we're going to close the deal is by winning. And right now we're winning," Obama told reporters today.

"And you know what we'll do is keep on campaigning in Indiana and North Carolina and Oregon and these other states and at the conclusion of all these contests people will go back and take a look and say, 'who's won?'"

He dismissed the notion that John McCain will have an advantage in the general election due to the length of the Democratic primary. Obama believes that he is breaking ground in states like Pennsylvania and Indiana by campaigning there now. Regardless of the outcome in the primary, he argued that the Democrats will be unified in the general election.

"I'm confident that whoever the nominee is that the Democratic Party will be unified in August and will be unified throughout the fall. I think that nominee will be me."

Obama argued he will be able to withstand Republican attacks in November more so than Hillary Clinton. "Nobody has complained more about the press, about questions at debates, about being mistreated than Senator Clinton has or President Clinton," Obama said. "And so we have been pretty tame in terms of taking our shots and just rolling with them."

He took another swipe at Clinton's ability to "take the heat," arguing that he doesn't have to talk to tough to be tough. "I know that people like to talk tough and use a lot of rhetoric about fighting and obliterating and all that stuff - I've always believed that if you're tough you don't have to talk about it."

More and more super delegates are declaring their choice Barack Obama. Even John Edwards close friends and advisors are now behind Obama. Pennsylvania did not change anything, there will always be fringes in certain demographics that won`t vote for Barack Obama but there will be enough of the mainstream from all groups that will lead him to victory. There are not enough remaining states that are favorable to Clinton for her to achieve a lead in pledged delegates or popular vote. Meanwhile she will give Barack Obama a chance to answer his critics and give America a chance to get more familiar with him. I believe Reverand Wright will clarify himself to the American public so this non-issue can be put to bed as well .Obama has motivated hundreds of thousands of new voters who are tired of the politics that Clinton and McCain embody. He will be our next President.

Praying with someone is not the same thing as belonging to his church and putting him on your staff. Obama showed just how young and foolish he is. He threw himself under the bus.

BLACK AMERICANS HAVE DIED ON EVERY BATTLE FIELD AMERICA HAS BEEN ON, AND OUR PATRIOTISM IS QUESTIONED. WHITE AMERICANS CAN CUSS POLICE OUT, BUT A BLACK MAN BETTER NOT, WHITE MEN CAN BURN THE FLAG, BUT BLACK MEN BETTER WEAR THE LAPEL, WHITE MEN CAN BLOW UP FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS IN OKLAHOMA, THEIR IS NOT A HISTORY OF ONE BLACK MAN BLOWING UP ANYTHING IN AMERICA, YET OUR PATRIOTISM IS QUESTIONS? IF THATS NOT RACISM, THEN WHAT IS? THE SO CALLED WEATHER MEN WAS PARDONED BY BILL CLINTON - A PARDON IS AMERICA''S FORGIVENESS. WE FORGAVE THOSE WHITE PEOPLE WHO ATTEMPTED TO BLOW UP AMERICA BASES, YET WE QUESTION OBAMA PATRIOTISM BECAUSE HE ATTENDED A CHURCH? IF THIS IS NOT RACISM, THEN WHAT IS? WE WATCHED BILL CLINTON BASICALLY MOLEST AND RAPE WOMEN FOR OVER 40 YEARS, YET WHITE WOMEN DISTRUST OBAMA A MARRIED MAN WITH TWO DAUGHTERS HE WOULD DIE FOR? IS THATS NOT RACISM, THEN WHAT IS?

The DNC needs a candidate who will carry the larger electoral states, which Hillary has shown she can. The DNC can''t afford to disenfranchise voters in key states like FL and MI. To her credit, Hillary understood that these states and voters were important too. Pennsylvania was also planning to move its primary earlier to be able to vote on the full field of candidates; its good that they didn''t move their primary earlier or they''d be MILF''d, as well.
