Obama: Clinton Offers "Slash And Burn" Politics

(CBS)

From CBS News' Maria Gavrilovic:

PAOLI, PA. – On the last weekend before the much anticipated Pennsylvania primary, Barack Obama is making an intense effort to draw sharp contrasts between him and Hillary Clinton. Taking a page out of presidential campaigns from years past, Obama embarked on a whistle stop tour today, campaigning by train across the southeastern part of the state.

"You've been watching this campaign for a couple weeks, at least here in Pennsylvania, and let's face it, it's not pretty," Obama said. "But the issue is not whether people are saying nasty things, the problem is that it's a distraction from solving the problems that have to be solved."

Clinton is trying to divide Pennsylvania voters, according to Obama. "This is a choice in this primary, do you want the same slash and burn politics or do you believe it is possible for us to bring people together?"

At an earlier stop in Wynnewood, Obama accused Clinton of "throwing everything at me and seeing if something sticks," which he referred to as a Republican tactic. "I'm not in this race to fit into Washington; I am in this race to change Washington," Obama said. "I want to get the Republicans to start sitting down with Democrats and independents to actually solve problems for the American people."

The "On Track for Change" train tour began in the Philadelphia suburbs and in ends in the state capital of Harrisburg. With five stops in one day, the Pennsylvania campaign blitz looks more like the frenetic campaign pace the candidates kept in Iowa.

Linda Frank, its obvious that you are not suffering in your life for lack of funds...I teach elementary school...and I see poverty ...kids with ratty clothing, ill fitting shoes, lack of hygiene...and hungry...quite unlike when I first started twenty years ago. We have become a nation where the middle class has or is eroding to the poor....where is the honor or justice in this? If you examine every fallen empire in history, it is always the same..this scenario of the privileged and the poor and the end result is the fall of the once mighty nation. Senator Obama is not only smart...he is a wise man who''s heart is on his sleeve..I find it offensive that the privileged attack him for that...and I really notice that he finds it hard to play the blame game...he tries so hard to stay above the fray....trying so hard to avoid the attack of the clones!

Blacks threated by Obama thugs!

Death Threats Tavis Smiley and others too says Stephanie Tubbs Jones

There''s mounting evidence that at least some of Obama''s faithful intend to see a black American president sworn in next year -- no matter what it takes.
Earlier this month, popular black author and talk-show host Tavis Smiley disclosed death threats he''d received from those accusing him of blasphemy against their black prophet. Then, at Saturday''s Smiley-hosted State of the Black Union forum, Congressional Black Caucus member Stephanie Tubbs Jones lent credence to Smiley''s claim by suggesting that many black elected officials not swearing allegiance to Obama have also been the target of violent threats.
While widely ignored by the mainstream media, the implications here are nothing short of momentous. The very prospect of physical intimidation as a means of garnering political compliance from Americans awakens frightening images of the thuggish antics of one William M "Boss" Tweed in mid-nineteenth century New York. Having survived the 2000 election debacle without even the threat of bloodshed, would some now have us back on the road to the iniquitous days of Tammany Hall?

She is saying anything trying to steal the election. Obama should just ignore Hilary and the press should stop covering her, maybe then she would get the point!

Obama complaining about anyone elses campaign tactics is laughable!

The man has spent a year and a half trying to tear down the reputation of Hillary Clinton.

And he''s tried to tear down the only successful democratic administration in decades! He''s done everything possible to smear the successful Clinton presidency.

Now do you really think this man supports the democratic party, or do you think he just wants to promote his own anti-American stance that this country needs to be CHANGED!

Hissss! Boooo! I love my country! And I want it back to where it was 8 years ago when the people took this country back!

Yeah, ok. You definitely fit the typical dumb McSame supporter profile. It''s laughable that this is your guy''s nominee. You''ve got to be kidding -right? This general will definitely be amusing when McSame tries to debate Obama.

92 year old McSame says he''s the candidate that represents change and the cadidate for the future. Everyone reading that has got to crack a smile -both repub and dem.

Internal polls within the Obama camp must not look good ..

I watched CNN''s ballot bowl today ..
Live extended coverage of both Obama and Clinton speeches...
Obama sounded desperate with his negative attacks on Hillary.
Hillary was taking the high road and was solid on her action plans for the economy.
We''ll see what happens on Tuesday..
I predict : Clinton 56% Obama 44%

OK, now we see that the only difference is the length of stupidity and depravity in their records...that''s just peachy. Whose stupid idea was this socialist walk anyway?? Obama, right.

It will be a long long four years if Obama is elected. Why? Because he is attempting to alter our responses to everyday life which are rooted in human nature. Obama will NEVER change our nature because we are all different and there is nothing wrong with our natural inclinations. Obama is NOT God though sadly some see him as such.
