Clinton Warns Voters Not To Throw Away Their Vote

WEST CHESTER, PA. -- At an outdoor rally in a town one hour outside Philadelphia, Clinton painted a gloomy picture to voters of the current state of the nation including an ongoing war in Iraq, an increasingly ominous relationship with China and the sagging economy here at home. ""We have got to realize that our future really depends on who the next president is, this is not a throw away election, this is one of the most important elections we've ever faced."

Clinton spoke to a crowd of about 400 supporters a day after Barak Obama drew a crowd of over 30,000 at his rally in Philadelphia. "Usually the best way to determine who can withstand the incredible pressures of a political campaign, which believe me when you get into the general election and when you get into the White House the stresses and pressures of the general election and the job are overwhelming," said Clinton, "And we know that we've got to have a president ready on day one to take charge, to give us the right direction and to empower the people of America once again."

With just four days left before the Pennsylvania primary, Clinton is canvassing the state, hosting five campaign events designed to keep the slim lead she currently holds over Obama here. Clinton once held a 20 point lead in Pennsylvania, which has now shrunk to single digits. Clinton is not taking anything for granted and asked voters to get involved in her campaign.

"I'm asking you to spend whatever time you can between now and when the polls close on Tuesday getting people out to vote, talking to your friends and neighbors," Clinton said. "When people say they are undecided, talk to them about how you make tough decisions in any other part of your life."

Hmmm... throw-away election, kinda like the throw-away small states and caucus states and states with large populations of blacks as well as throw-away political activists. I was excited about her campaign when all this began. It was Hillary who threw away my vote with her miserable, pathetic campaign tactics.

Judicial Watch: Obama %u2018intended to leave no paper trail%u2019

The president of a prominent watchdog group said Wednesday that he believes Democratic presidential frontrunner Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) %u201Cintended to leave no paper trail%u201D during his time in the Illinois Senate.

Judicial Watch, which has been seeking access to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton%u2019s (D-N.Y.) records from her time in the White House, argued Wednesday that the Illinois senator, who has criticized the former first lady for a lack of openness, has his own %u201Crecords problem.%u201D
%u201CThe more we learn about the Illinois Senator, the more obvious it becomes that he is anything but the ethically upright outsider he purports to be,%u201D said Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch.
The group rose to prominence when it repeatedly took on former President Bill Clinton during his time in office. It also sought records from the Bush administration regarding Vice President *** Cheney%u2019s energy task force.
In a statement, Fitton noted that his group has sought access to Obama%u2019s records as a state senator and questioned whether the presidential candidate has been forthcoming with regard to what happened to those documents.
He said that %u201Cnobody knows where they are, if they exist at all%u201D and claimed that %u201CObama%u2019s story keeps changing.%u201D; Reply to this comment

Alice Palmer, friend and mentor to Obama, served the district in the Illinois Senate for much of the 1990s. Decades earlier, she was a community organizer in the area when Obama was growing up in Hawaii. She risked her safe seat to run for Congress and touted Obama as a suitable successor. But when Palmer lost the congressional race, her supporters asked Obama to fold his campaign so she could easily retain her state Senate seat. However, I find continued sniping between Clinton and Obama supporters disheartening. I favor Obama as someone with a potential for greatness that comes once in a generation, but if Clinton were nominated, I would support her enthusiastically. Both are imperfect human beings, as we all are, but both would be excellent presidents. It''s important to remember that our allegiance cannot be to any individual candidate, but to the 300 million Americans whose future rides on the outcome of an election that will decide between a McCain view of health care, war and peace, social justice, and the environment, and a shared Obama/Clinton perspective that understands far better what it means to struggle with the problems of ordinary people. Finally, I would be dishonest if I did not state that I hope Hillary Clinton will soon withdraw. That is not because she is unqualified. Rather, she no longer has any realistic chance to become president, but she can still ruin Obama''s chances. Fred Moolten; Reply to this comment
