Clinton Campaign Accuses Obama of Ducking Debates

From CBS News' Allison O'Keefe:

Accusing Barack Obama of trying to "duck" a debate in North Carolina with Hillary Clinton, her state director in North Carolina ripped into Obama on a conference call with reporters today. "Obama wanted to brush off the people of North Carolina," said Ace Smith, referring to the video of Obama brushing off his shoulders yesterday when talking about Wednesday night's ABC News debate.

Smith took Obama's campaign slogans of "hope," "change," and "turn the page," and used them to illustrate why they believe Obama does not want to participate in a North Carolina debate. Obama is "hoping for no more tough questions, hoping for no more debates," according to Smith, and that he wants to "change the channel, change the topic," as well as wanting to "turn the page, because there is a scary picture."

Smith dismissed the notion that one of Obama's reasons for not agreeing to this debate is that he agreed to one in North Carolina on a different date. That is a bogus argument, Smith said, because the debate referenced by Obama was not sanctioned by the Democratic Party and was set for the first evening of Passover.

Gov. Mike Easley, D-N.C, is urging Obama to participate in the debate, and Smith says 20,000 people in North Carolina have already requested tickets. "This is important to the voters of North Carolina," said Smith. "I don't understand how you can run for President and not answer tough questions." The CBS News debate is scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, at 8:00 pm, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Clinton campaign also announced today that she has accepted the invitation for two debates in Indiana, and said they hope Obama will accept as well. "I know Senator Obama was complaining throughout the day about the tough questions he got," said Howard Wolfson, a Clinton campaign spokesman. "It's obviously very easy to give an eloquent speech, but it's harder to stand in front of questioners and take tough questions, and that's part of the process too."

The Obama camp responded by turning the focus to campaigning, rather than debating. "There have been 21 Democratic debates and four one-on-one debates with Senator Clinton, all televised nationally," said Bill Burton, an Obama spokesman. "Our focus will be on meeting with voters in Indiana and hearing directly from them. We will make a decision about debates shortly."

Sorry, man, he''s got a gig with the Boss that night. Hanging with Bruce is so much cooler than having to be with what''s-her-name.

If Obama would only give plausible answers to key questions regarding his character and judgment, we wouldn''t have to keep coming back to them. Why won''t he? Why won''t any of his supporters admit this, pretending instead that some serious matters of personal judgment are irrelevant. Obama was annoyed when asked if he felt Wright was patriotic, thinking it sufficed that Wright had been a Marine --how is that relevant? He should have been asked if he thinks Wright''s ranting in his first sermon after 9/11 that Americans deserved to have 3000+ people die in the inferno of the WTC was ANY EVIDENCE AT ALL of anti-American attitude! He should answer this: Can you justify, or are you horrified by, the fact that members of YOUR church were JOYOUSLY happy, clapping and rooting Wright on, when Wright was yelling that Americans had the nerve to be upset when 3000 people were trapped, burned alive, melting from the heat as they called 911 or their children for the last time, or jumped out the window?
Until Obama can confront the facts at this level---never mind telling us (in a detached professorial fashion) you find Wright''s comments "objectionable" or that you denounced the comments but not the man. THESE ARE FAR TOO WEAK! (Like calling the ravings of a Hitler that Jews should be iradicated merely "offensive"!) It''s the absence of A MORAL OUTRAGE that forces people---even those who want to believe in Obama---to keep coming back to these issues, again and again.

Obama aka Barry Soetoro is scary as hell, we really don''t know enough about him to turn over the reigns of our country to him.
He has too many radical associates. And has told us so many lies, he is a Trojan Horse, and will destroy our country.

Obama, is arrogant and thinks he is above it all. He really does not have a clue
what white America is all about. He has surrounded himself with radicals and
racist and attending a church for 20 years that is dedicated to Black Africa.
His preacher is stuck in the 50%u2019s preaching hate and racial divide. And after
reading
Michelles%u201D thesis (they tried to get off the internet) she has always had a chip
on her shoulder, even though affirmative action got her to Princeton.

Obama is not for all Americans.

At this point, Hillary is becoming a joke rather than legitimate consideration for anything. How many times can you attack the same guy and NEVER winning, go back and tear him apart again? there is NOTHING to any of these debates. We learn much more about how he can lead us and help us as americans when he speaks directly to us rather than by the idiotic sound bite questions laced in flag pins and ratings -- than watching her try to beat him up. I see a correlation with Nero here, Hillary the she-Nero and her ''people'' are the frenzied blood thirsty citizens of Rome - watching the carnage at the coliseum....hmmmm

Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, was seeking the United
States
Government%u2019s permission to accept $1 billion from Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi of
Libya. The gift, Mr. Farrakhan said, would be used to mobilize American black

Their AGENDA: (excerpt)

%u201CWhile visiting that mercurial miscreant Libyan strongman Col. Muammar Qaddafi,

Can it!! No more debate. We the voters are extremely tired of it. If you are thinking to lower Obama''s standing with debates, especially dirty, useless debate, think again.
