Obama Questioned Again About Wright, Gets Some Help From The Boss

PHILADELPHIA -- Barack Obama attended a Jewish community gathering this morning at a Philadelphia area synagogue, where he defended his relationship with his Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Obama said he spoke to Wright about controversial remarks privately, instead of denouncing him publicly. "I'll be honest with you, I did not become aware of them until I started running for president. And at that point, yes, I had conversations with him, which I shared with him my deep concerns," Obama said. "The caricature that's been presented of him is not an accurate depiction of who he is as a pastor."

Obama said he believes the controversy will not hurt him in a general election, but believes that "scurrilous e-mails" about his race and name may have caused some discomfort with Jewish voters. "A lot of it has been generated as a consequence of the fact that I'm African-American and that at times there've been tensions between the African-American leadership and the Jewish community," Obama said. "So I just want to emphasize what's in my heart, which is that my ties to the Jewish community are not political. They precede me entering politics."

While Obama continues to address the Rev. Wright controversy, he is getting some help in trying to quiet the criticism that he is an elitist. Bruce Springsteen, who sings often about his working class roots, endorsed Obama today, posting a message on his website that says the "bitter" controversy is being exaggerated. "While these matters are worthy of some discussion, they have been ripped out of the context and fabric of the man's life and vision," it reads.

The American Hunters and Shooters Association also endorsed Obama, saying they "wanted to set the record straight." Obama told a group of fundraisers that some small town Americans "cling to guns…as a way to explain their frustrations" a week and a half ago. The association believes, however, that Hillary Clinton has "turned her back on American's gun owners."

Too bad the Boss didn''t actually check out his voting record to see if his votes actually support those in the working class.
Obama has a way of ducking hard votes or explaining away his bad votes by trying to blame poorly-written statutes. Case in point: an amendment he voted on as part of a recent bankruptcy bill before the US Senate would have capped credit card interest rates at 30 percent. Inexplicably, Obama voted against it, although it would have been the beginning of setting these predatory lending rates under federal control. Even Senator Hillary Clinton supported it.

Now Obama explains his vote by saying the amendment was poorly written or set the ceiling too high. His explanation isn''t credible as Obama offered no lower number as an alternative, and didn''t put forward his own amendment clarifying whatever language he found objectionable.

Why wouldn''t Obama have voted to create the first federal ceiling on predatory credit card interest rates, particularly as he calls himself a champion of the poor and middle classes? Perhaps he was signaling to the corporate establishment that they need not fear him. For all of his dynamic rhetoric about lifting up the masses, it seems Obama has little intention of doing anything concrete to reverse the cycle of poverty many struggle to overcome.

President Clinton''s office is in Harlem. He has spoken for the African Americans since he held office.

For all African Americans to turn on this man and Senator Clinton is unbelievable.

African Americans voting for the sake of having an Afircan American as president is so racist, it''s scarey.

Barack Obama, George Bush and Mr. Cheney''s cousin (no coincidence) is the next POTUS. Reason being, Bush/Cheney donors say they will sti this election out because they are not supporting McCain, not to mention the fact that he hasn''t raised enough money to carry on to November. And everyone knows Hillary''s finished. He has already been appointed President by the Interior Government. Why do you think David Petraeus and all of the other branches of government respect him the way they do? Because they have already been informed. It''s just that noone bothered to inform the American public---until now.

He will never win the general election,period. Too many of us white non educated guys out there. And we may not have degrees but we got life sense and it tells us this guy is a fraud.
Better vote for someone WE do Know and thats Hillary.
