Hillary Tells Bill To Back Off On Bosnia Comments

From CBS News' Ryan Corsaro:

Hillary Clinton is telling her husband to back off from making comments about her trip to Bosnia after he blundered several facts when defending the trip yesterday.

"Hillary called me and said 'I misstated it, you misstated it.'" President Clinton said. "She's right, I wasn't there, I don't remember the facts either."
He said ultimately his wife told him, "you weren't there, let me handle it," to which Clinton says he replied, "yes, ma'am."

At an event in Boonville, Ind., yesterday, the former president said that the media "blew up" the story of Clinton's visit to Bosnia in 1996. He claimed his wife made the comments that she avoided sniper fire and canceled a welcoming ceremony - which were later disproved by CBS News video of the event – were comments she made late at night while sleep deprived and that she had apologized.

In fact, she made the statements around 9 a.m. in a prepared speech on March 17th, and later repeated them at a press conference that followed. She claimed to have "misspoke," but never actually apologized for the comments.

Asked if he was going to bring up the event while campaigning in the future, Mr. Clinton said he would not. "But I think I talk about at every stage what she did for the troops," he added.

Clinton went on to say his wife had a real record for supporting troops in combat and veterans of war.

President Clinton was visiting the site of the Clinton headquarters in Terre Haute, which burned down in a fire yesterday. Two workers at the campaign office escaped without injury.

When asked if it was a bad sign, Clinton said, "No, I think it might be a good omen. We're rising from the ashes like a phoenix."

I hope no one is fooled by this scripted routine by the Clintons. President Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton are no fools and his reviving this issue is no accident but a calculated risk/scheme to use the same tactics allegedly used by the out going president of Taiwan. It is alleged he hired someone to shoot him in the leg because he felt he would loose the elections. He won that election with the sympathy vote. President Clinton sensing his wife''s defeat, in desperation, is sighting his wife''s age and fatigue for her vivid inaccuracies of the event is merely a plot for the sympathy vote for the tired old woman (Hillary) at 60. It worked in Taiwan. The timing of President Clinton''s apparently naive but foxy move is no accident. The effect of Senator Obama resent intentionally misunderstood comments plus Hillary''s premature senility can be greater then the sum of the two. We are very fortunate that we can see through this and not be fooled by this gimmick. They cannot be trusted. Make me worry about that 3am phone call.

Well, I guess he really doesn''t want to be "first man" after all. Nobody needs to make any derogitory statements about Hillary, cuz Bill just keeps shooting her better than the "snipers" did. If she wants to have a shot at this, she better put a gag in his mouth or duct tape it shut. Hillary, put your pantsuit on like you said you want to and tell your hubby to keep helping you the way he continues to do.

Hillary did not lie! Misogynists lie about her! If she were a man, she would have put Ubama away a long time ago. He is favored by the media for one reason--rather silly too--because he has a thing between his legs. His color has really helped him among guilt-ridden racist white Democrats. Hillary is far more competent and experienced--she has been overseas millions of time and can''t be expected to remember details of trips taken over 10 years ago! Mubarakh can''t even remember details of his last meeting with his friend and slumlord Antoine Rezko! Take your misogynist blindfolders off!

This isn''''t the first time the misognyists have bashed Hillary. This article is totally biased and has hardly a shred of substantive reality.

you used a lot of big words badly. she intentionally exagerated the story of her visit more bluntly lied knowingly. This is typical of her. How this makes the article against women is beyond me. Is any criticism of a man misanthropic. Please its publicly known she lied about this

I am a 30 year old family man with 2 children.
I can understand the college kids voting for Obama because there college kids. But when you see this seasoned adults wanting to vote for Obama even after knowing about his Hamas connections, his Pastor, Ayers, RezKo , his radical muslim cousin, Farakahn, Black Panther Endorsement and 90% of Blacks voting for Obama because of his skin color. I can not for the life of me figure why he has so much support. Can anyone give me any reason why they would even consider Obama. Is it because he is good looking and young and talks about change. He has only had 2 years in National Politics. Unbeleivable.
